  1. As a side note, today my bride and I went out to lunch. I'd been handling lumber with evidence of mice sprinkled about, so thought perhaps I should wash my hands. Finish washing and what do I find? No paper towel dispenser, just one of those whiz bang air dryers where it looks like you're putting your hands into a big sandwich and it blows off the water. Issue is, my hands don't fit. I make contact with the machine from the knuckles back. Sanitary my butt.........
  2. Hmmm, so wouldn't Modelo be an anti-dote to Corona? Make mine Negro.
  3. Had a Vette for a while, C-6. Sad day when it left, but Grandma needed a 4 door to haul kids. The Vette and the smart weren't cut'n it. It was the daily driver for two years, no matter the weather.
  4. We'll still be there. I know we'e putting our lives on the line, but the camaraderie is worth the risk. Hmm. Someone here has in their signature a line about living, rather than shying away from danger.... Dan?
  5. Stocks are on sale right now. I sold two tractors, and I'm putting the money in an S&P index fund. Don't really care if I pick the bottom, just have it where there's lots of potential. That said, perhaps I should have sold the Henderson motorcycle......... Nah, I can still ride it to go get toilet paper.😂
  6. No camera. I'm a tight wad. I do same as hitching to a commercial trailer, but much gentler. Get it close and either go take a look, or have another set of eyes (wife). We usually nail it first try, but sometimes....... And yes, rv's are pretty dainty compared to the commercial stuff. No bang'n around with the hitch.
  7. I'd like to "qualify" my above post. I'm no insurance guru, but I believe different companies may have different rules from one state to another. For instance, our policy through Lazy Days is actually a Progressive policy. Other with Progressive can't bobtail or pull any trailer other than the one listed on the policy (they required we have both truck and trailer with them). OTOH, pricing the same policy through Miller, they said I couldn't bobtail or pull any other trailer, besides the one listed. Is this all clear as mud? I hate insurance, until I need it.
  8. Yep. S-I-L is finance mgr. for a pretty big dealer. Too get the rebate for taking mfr. finance, you likely have to ask.
  9. Call Lazy Days RV in Tampa FL. They know their stuff. We got better coverage for lower price than any of the others mentioned. I can bobtail and pull any non-commercial trailer all I want.
  10. My LGT is an F-150, and is near GVWR with me and one passenger. Crew cab and a cross box full of tools all add up. So, I guess it's never really "empty". It rides a lot better than the three F-350s I had. BTW, on my King Ranch, it came with 20" wheels. Less sidewall = harsher ride. Son-in-law found that out when he traded his Platinum for a Tremor.
  11. Agreed. I know I'm not normal, but I don't like debt, unless it's making me money. Besides, at my age, I shouldn't need to borrow. My last two pick-ups, I financed through the dealer to qualify for a nice rebate. After 90 days, I paid them off. Had I paid them off earlier, the dealer would have had to eat the rebate, and since my son-in-law works there, I didn't want to ruin my chances of getting a good deal next time. Do the math. Usually, 0% financing is not so great if you figure the rebates you may be passing up. In the end, cash IS king, if you do your homework. YMMV.

Perhaps he meant it was the Canadian Screech that caused the delusional pattern........
  13. LGT fits in the garage at the house, rides better when empty, gets better fuel economy when empty, has 4 doors. HDT has to sit outside most of the time (which keeps me from using as a work bench), gets neglected for long stints, but does everything I ask of it. I'm glad I have both. And about the same total investment as a dually. $25k in the HDT including bed and hitch, and $42k in the F-150, bought new.
  14. We used to go "skinny dip'n", now we go "chunky dunk'n". But only after sundown.😮

Cab bags too. Don't ask how I know.......
  16. So, you deserve credit as well, for telling us no how they made things right. Good you both.
  17. Yes it is, if you have a permit and are within a certain overall length. We talked to some folks in Kanab in October who found out the hard way.
  18. Orange, there are no stupid questions. Just spend some time looking in the Resource Guide before asking. Lots of answers to questions you forgot to ask. Oh yeah, welcome.
  19. X3. The pain in your wallet is temporary. We're "fiscally sensitive" and don't regret it.
  20. Welcome! Yes, it's possible to do as you outlined, but with some downsides. First is the cost of insurance and license of a commercial v. Private or rv registered truck. You can find out how this applies in your state by reading the HHRV guide listed at the top of this forum. Like you, I found I could use a lesser truck for my business after I bought the hdt. I now use a half ton with a gas engine, and love it. Trailers are relatively cheap and haul more than a pickup.
  21. We used the commercial hitch for two or three years. No issues, other than things in the trailer got tossed around. With an air hitch, you can see the trailer " floating" over bumps. Things stay put now. As to the articulation concerns, a commercial hitch is not designed to capture the pin so tightly, allowing the trailer to rock side to side. The Binckly style rv hitch uses a two jaw system which clamps the pin tightly, restricting that articulation. In short, the rv style is a complicated solution to a problem that didn't exist.
  22. Ask dealer to save the removed air lines. They'll come in handy if you ever decide to go to a BluDot brake system rather that using a brake controller.
  23. Road trip! Congratulations.
