  1. I'm a avid pickleball player and I'm surprised they put the courts right in the middle of RV sites. The constant ball/paddle noise wouldn't be good for us. Keep that in mind when choosing sites.
  2. I see them on all the posts. All you have to do is double click.
  3. Reasonable rate with a pool and pickleball courts? Good luck! Have you looked into the Escapees park in Sumter Oaks or the Escapee co-op park in Wauchula? https://fl-skp-resort.org/ https://sumteroaks.escapeesrvparks.com/
  4. .... but the agent stated "changing the location". The problem was "pre-existing condition clause".
  5. We used a propane heater for 16 years. Never at night... but then, we like a cold room for sleeping. On a cold, rainy day we would leave it on all day. We always cracked a couple windows and had CO and propane detectors. The propane line ran to our main tank. We absolutely loved the constant warmth of the heater vs a furnace.
  6. Please don't use moth balls!! https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/mothball-toxicity-in-dogs#:~:text=Mothballs contain a high concentration, can harm pets and people.
  7. That video is awesome. They are so smart. Here's another video using the string lights. They don't work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVN9JXUJXdY
  8. Didn't use anything and didn't have a problem.
  9. Are you saying you wanted to design your own?
  10. Just Google for ads. You easily pull them down just using an awning hook. https://www.amazon.com/RV-Window-Awnings/s?k=RV+Window+Awnings https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/products/sl-window-awning/
  11. I would highly recommend window awnings. We used them all the time. You can see out of them and at a distance just fine. We had double pane. They also help when it rains to let you open the window, if you want fresh air. They are so easy to put in or out... seconds. For the big windshield we had a solar screen that attached on the outside thereby blocking the sun or cold before it hit the window. We could see out just fine.
  12. Scroll down this site a little to 'Key Findings'. Where you are now - Galveston - is high on crime. Pick any place in the U.S. and it has crime. How many stories have you read of border crossers committing crime? They didn't travel all that way to commit crimes. You're probably safer along the border than in any big city. https://www.areavibes.com/galveston-tx/crime/ You mentioned Big Bend - it's safe. We've been there many times. Excellent hiking. It's a national park and has federal officers manning it. Nearby Lajitas and Terlingua are popular places to stay, also. I'd recommend a stop at Fort Davis State Park - neat area. Take a tour of the observatory! Have a good trip and put faith in mankind!
  13. I'd highly recommend southern AZ over NM. NM can get very cold all winter. AZ is cold right now during the days but this is unusual for days on end. Climate change??? Usually the sun warms temperatures nicely during the day. All deserts will be cold at night. The warmest places in winter would be the greater Phoenix area west to Quartzsite down to Yuma and west into California. Tucson is nice but a tad cooler than Phoenix.
  14. No worries. We're 25 mi from border. Stop reading the 'news'!! 😉
  15. All national parks have an excellent web site giving special alerts, construction delays, things to do and more. That is where you can monitor the Going to the Sun Road opening or reservations. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/gtsrinfo.htm
  16. It does say 3 aluminum cupboards but doesn't show them. BUT.... it includes built-in pet bowls!!
  17. Where are you going that you're so paranoid? We boondocked 95% of the time and never had a concern like this.
  18. Two very popular and active groups are the Boomers: https://member.escapees.com/community/bofs/boombof.aspx and.Xscapers: https://xscapers.com/xscapers-community/convergences/ We belonged to the Boomers for our whole 16 yr of full-timing (Xscapers were just getting started toward the end of that time). We attended big gatherings and smaller meet ups around the country. We made life-long and current friends through the group. Our full-timing wouldn't have been as complete without them.
  19. Here's a great post of many pages of boondocking sites: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f93/little-rv-in-a-big-landscape-467760.html
  20. Not every forest service or BLM road is bad for RVs. You just have to do your homework, pre-scout it, if possible and most importantly, drive slow. We've gotten off pavement approx. 20 mi or so with our motorhome & our 5th wheel.
  21. March is a special time in Tucson - lots of spring flowers on desert walks! Here is one site for things to do. They'll add more as time goes by and you can click the calendar for specific days. The book fair at the University is a big thing... lots of seminars and authors. Fun things to do in the Benson area along with the SKP Co-op being there - Saguaro park. https://southernarizonaguide.com/annual-events-festivals-southern-arizona/
  22. You sign it before a notary. Fill it out there.
  23. What does UURC mean? When I saw the post there was only a period in the subject line. Now I see Kirk edited it. The OP mentions Florida, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama and Baton Rouge. Sorry.... it was confusing to me. Also, in my post I meant Louisiana 190 which parallels I-10; not Texas 90 (although we've driven it, also). Sorry. On Louisiana 190 we loved stopping in Eunice for some Cajun music played casually at the music store in town in the morning complete with Cajun snacks. We also attended the Cajun show in the theater at night. I believe this was all on a Saturday. Fun place. I love secondary highways so if he wants to avoid I-10 this is how I'd go from Kerrville to Baton Rouge. He could then stop at Escapees headquarters in Livingston to check it out & perhaps take a tour. The mail room is interesting. Then a stop in Eunice. NOTE: via I-10 is 527 miles - Kerrville, I-10, Baton Rouge. Via Livingston it's 561 miles (not much difference). He also wouldn't have to drive thru San Antonio or Houston. Kerrville to Baton Rouge via the back roads.
  24. Evidently, a lot of this post is deleted for some reason so I don't know your starting point and ending point. No interstate is in perfect condition and they change monthly/yearly depending on repair work done. We've done TX90 with good results as an alternative to the interstate but not in the past months.
