The families left behind have lost a father/mother, son/daughter and we tend to forget that at times. Their loved one died to keep us free and I will be eternally grateful for their sacrifice. Far too many people take for granted the freedoms and life here in the United States and WHY we're able to enjoy said freedoms. rickeieio Posted May 28, 2019 Report Share Posted May 28, 2019 I just got home from going out for fried chicken with my sister and her husband, who was in the first group of GI's in VietNam. Sitting on their patio, he spoke about how thankful he is that we're able to go out to eat, and sit in peace in the yard, without fear of attack, in a pretty safe country. He paid a price so the rest of us can enjoy these things, but not nearly the price of many. He had tears in his eyes when he spoke of the thousands who weren't as lucky as he, and never came home. My hat's off to them.
