I sure could do things a lot more efficiently if they let me at it.

Reminds me of the boss who provoked me into quitting a decent job. It turned out she started out in my position and felt threatened by me wanting to not follow her precise rules. I NEVER would have wanted her job but she didn't know that. She could only see me as being overqualified for the job I had and her job was the only possible step up within that company so she felt compelled to make it impossible for me to continue working for her. I was the second person she did that to. I wonder if she was ever to get qualified help that didn't make her feel threatened? I know she no longer works for that company. I hope your situation doesn't turn out to be one of those.

Julie - we were at Cedar Springs Campground in Flaming Gorge a couple of weeks ago and it was really nice and quiet.

Rode by that area yesterday - the Flaming gorge is Huge with so many forest campgrounds - it has been wonderful weather - can have a fire every night etc. and lots of people fishing - the marina here had a tournament today - at least 50 boats -

We move on toward Cheyenne tomorrow and then down to Denver next week to see some friends who just moved into a 6200 sq foot house!!! guess their bathrooms take up more space than our 5ver.

Jerry and Janice - the beach at lake Powell is great - but the sand was too soft after the rain for us to give it a try.

Think you would like this area too!! We have a great water view with Pelicans flying around.

Julie, I had a great water view today also but it was all coming straight down from above. The day time was pretty nice but tonight it rained so hard I couldn't hear myself think. (Maybe I wasn't thinking) so tomorrow I'll have to go out and rebuild the path through the mud that I fixed today. I swiped some cold asphalt from the piles the contractor has aroung here and made a path around my slide so I could get at my hoses and thing without walking in mud. I guess I'll be doing it all over tomorrow. This morning I drove around to locate the places I'll have to go on Tuesday. The DMV is way south of town but I found it. I also drove past Wal-Mart. I'll be needing that shortly. I'm gaining a little too much space in my frig. Other than that I gabbed with my neighbor a couple of times and tried out a couple of carving designs and shaped a few knives. When you buy a new knife they say it's ready to use. I've never seen on yet that was actually ready. Tomorrow will be a little dull around here. I may go sight seeing.

Another day, Another Dollar (in Debt) The Morning was pretty nice but it did get a little warm. (85) It's 5:30 PM now and the sky is so dark you would think it is 9PM. It looks like we are in for another doozy. Last nights rain left this place a swamp. My pad did stay above water but I have deep mud on both side of me. I need a traveling house keeper to sweep the floor every time I go outside and come back in again. I track mud and gravel in every time. so much for my nice clean floors I scrubbed down in Las Vegus, NM.

I didn't do much today. I sat outside re-shaping knives I bought so that they would cut the way they are supposed to. I walked around the block a couple of times and that's about the extent of my activity today. Tomorrow I'll go back over to the bank and ask a bunch of foolish questions about my new accound just to make them earn their money. (and because I can't remember doodelly.) I didn't leave the campground at all today. Most of the rigs that were here when I got here have left. We were down to 5 rigs until late this afternoon when two more came in. The part of the campground that was so soft is almost empty, I guess everyone got tired of the mud. Just as soon as I get my drivers license I think I'll go to a different campground to wait for my mail and just come over here to check mail every other day or so. The site is fairly dry but it is only 15 ft wide and there is no place to sit and no shade at all. If I could get on the east side of my trailer there is shade but there is also mud about a foot deep. Oh well, I will survive.

Two days training done. Boy, I tell you. I sure could do things a lot more efficiently if they let me at it. But hey, I can do it.

Remember this phrase "It's just a job not a career!!"

I find a lot of things here at the campground that could be done better but I just do what they want and collect my paycheck. It's less aggrevating that way!!!

That fire is still not under control. Channel 4 reported 440,000 acres burned. The wind had taken the smoke away. But it was replaced by very stout winds and dust. Some days Ya just can't win. I did manage to haul a couple hundred gallons of water for a neighbor lady this morning. But the afternoon has been hiding under the a/c from the dust. Hopefully this weather pattern will break soon. New Mexico and west Texas really need some rain. We just don't need that swamp IYQ is stuck in. We need to warn him about sharp knives. Remember the last time?

Knives have to be sharp to cut smooth. Besides I think my hand carved fingers are pretty. Even if I cant feel anything with them. But they give me a good excuse for my loosy typing.

Dave I'll answer that question you ask in your email just as soon as I find where I put it. I'm good at hiding things on myself.

We just followed in Coldsmoke's footsteps and ordered Millenicom internet. Now we'll have access to two separate cell towers. We have certainly discovered that some places AT&T is not available and other places Verizon is not available. Millenicom offers you either the Sprint network or the Verizon network depending on what works best for you. AT&T came out with new plans last week so we'll probably adjust down our current plan since Millenicom has a 20 gb limit. We'll see how it works. If it doesn't, we'll blame Coldsmoke. :D :D

I'm going to be borrowing IYQ's vanishing cream for awhile. We're headed up to Hell Creek tomorrow morning - no TV, no internet, no cell service. I'm hoping we'll be able to access Mary Beth's wifi - she's a fishing guide up there. But who knows. Everybody stay safe.

I'm pooped, I've been running all day but I think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lets hope it isn't a freight train coming this way. I had to make 3 trips to the bank today. Every time I'd leave I'd get a call that they needed something else. One of the calls came while I was in Wal-Mark in the middle of grocery shopping. I'm not going to say when I'll leave here. I want to keep it a secret so I can sneek up on Steve and raid that ice cream machine.

Paul left with Kelly this morning. I can't believe they drove all the way to Nashville. They will be in Canton, Ohio tomorrow afternoon. They are nuts! I miss Kelly already! Isn't it strange that we work so hard to make them independent, loving, responsible adults and then when they do it we want them little again. Maybe not real little but about 13.

Hey Mike, When I lived at Ft Richardson I used to fish Ship Creek. One time I heard a noise and a big black bear had come in and sat down behind me only about 10 feet away. I caught a fish (either Silver or Rainbow, I can't tell the diff.) I swung it over to the side thinking the bear would go for the fish instead of me. About that time it dawned on me that fish had a hook in it so I tried to snap the line and break the leader. The fish hit me right in the chest. I fumbled around and got the fish heaved out about 15 feet to the side and the bear stripped the skin off and ate it then sat down behind me again. It dawned on me that this bear had seen fishermen before and knew exactly what he was doing. I caught another fish and this time I calmly took it off the hook and gave it a good heave to the side. When the bear went after it I got up took my pole apart so I could get through the underbrush and walked away. The bear got up and walk away in the opposite direction. I will admit I had to change shorts when I got home.

I am now an official SD resident. I got my drivers license today and the plates for my truck and trailer came today. Now all I have to do is call my insurance company and tell the my Driver's License number and wait for my credit card and box of checks to come in the mail. I'm thinking of running up to Devil's Tower for a week or so then come back here to get my mail and the stuff from the bank. Then head out for Duluth. MN

It was a pretty good day today but a little windy (30 MPH) It clouded up once and gave a few sprinkles of rain but then cleared again and warmed up. Most of the mud dried up with this wind but it is probably pretty wet just under the surface. I'm not take any chances by stepping off the hard surface streets.

Thanks to Mary Beth and her WIFI, I am actually on line out here in the middle of absolutely no where. The last 25 miles are all gravel and I lost a fender on the boat trailer as well as another thingie that help guides the boat onto the trailer. A guy found the fender and brought it over to us but no luck with the other thingie. That should give you some idea of how rough the road is. Jim had better catch fish.

Sandie - So, now you won't be quite as depressed since you have internet.

Marsha - You REALLY want your kids to be 13 again? Absolutely, no way for me. That boyfriend / girlfriend stuff really got on my nerves with my kids. And, then, you'd still be stuck at home, working and no big wheels.

Well, we've hung around this week since Terry had a CAT scan scheduled for today. We got over to Portland and they rescheduled it!!! So, we'll do this again next week. We're meeting Lee and Loralie for lunch tomorrow, Tammi is in town Thursday and Friday and then, Father's Day on Sunday.

We'd really, really like to get on the road.

Congrats, IYQ, on becoming a South Dakota resident!

Jeri...good point about not being able to travel. But we really enjoyed watching them with their friends, playing sports and just growing into really neat girls. Since we taught at the high school they went to, we KNEW most of the boys they dated before they dated them. Great advantage.

It's a good thing my Itinerary is written in chalk. I just got word that my Niece will be back in Duluth on the 23rd of June and my Great Grand Niece is coming there from Columbia. SC but has to fly back on the 4th of July to be at work on the 5th. So now I have to make a mad dash to Duluth instead of just drifting over there. The place they rented in Duluth is way out north of the City on Hwy 61, They don't get an AT&T phone signal out there so I may be hitting the vanishing Cream bottle again with Verizon also. I'm going to try to stay here until Monday in hopes that at least some of the things I'm waithing for in the mail will get here. Then I'll take off for Duluth, mail or no mail, and have things forwarded to my nieces new temperary address. I don't know how long her husbands job is going to keep them up there but I'm sure it will be several month. He heads up projects for the construction company he works for and this job is some big government contract. So If I come up missing all of a sudden. It's because I've been hitting the Vanishing Cream Bottle again. This is becoming an adiction.
