Just checking in so we won't be discarded with the quitters. Currently in MI and heading south the first of Nov.ish..... Going to KY. to finish the Bourbon Trail first, then maybe Smokey Mnts. or not....it's up to us and the weather but we will be south enough before it snows here in the midwest. Looking forward to seeing anybody from the group in FL this winter.

We are back in AZ for the winter, 3 months in Ft McDowell, then 3 months in Yuma. Planning of a summer of racing in the Mid West, starting with the Indy 500 in May. John has his cancer scans at Mayo this week, pray everything goes well.

Cheryl - sure good to hear from you. Prayers for John. Cancer scans are so scary. Jim has another coming up also. Sounds like a fun summer.

Spent a couple great days with Jeri/Terri and Jan/Jerry near Destin, FL. Had to deal a little with remnants of hurricane Patricia but we didn't let it ruin our fun. Heading to Houston for most of the winter.

Not working the gate this winter will allow you to help Delcie train Echo. Looking forward to seeing the new addition.

S Texas is too windy. Go to AZ and play with our group. Not that I'm opinionated or anything. :)

Headed South as posted. Landed in Bardston KY, The Bourbon Capital of the World. And tomorrow Karla and I will start checking out some distilleries. Five years ago we visited and made it to only two. This time we plan on finishing the entire tour, if we can figure it out. They have added some distilleries and taken away others from the Passport map so I'm confused. And I haven't even had a single tasting yet!

Eric, I heard a rumor that they were charging for the tasting/tours now. If I recall from when we took the tour several years ago, it was free at the time. I still have my "free" t-shirt from when we finished the tours. ;-)

Paul, you are right they are. And we were trying to remember from when we did it a few years back if we were charged, thanks for helping us remember. Should have finished it then. I think I'm reading where Buffalo Trace and 1792 are still free.

Eric,

We are right down the road in Campbellsville, working at Amazon.com, We have done the Heavenly Hill and Makers Mark. Last week we did Jim Beam. We got there at 11:30 and the next tour available was at 2. They would have charged us for it. But we did do a tasting though and that didn't cost anything. If you have time, there is also a Cooperage (barrel making) in Lebanon. We have not been there yet, but its on our list. They are not open on weekends and their tours are at 9:30 or 1:00.

Linda & Ed:

Thanks for the info, I did look into the tour in Lebonan and we will have to save that for the next time passing through. We still have Woodford Reserve to visit, the last of the original's from the tour. Then our passport will be complete. The tasting with history at Four Roses was fun. The Buffalo Trace tour was the best in my opinion. They aren't part of the "Kentucky Bourbon Tour" anymore but still do tours and tastings.

We have left the area now and came to Bandy Creek CG in the Big South Fork Nat'l River. Very nice cg but don't come in from the east as we did. Many switch-backs w/ 13% grades to add to the fun......We made it safely but only because there wasn't any traffic from the opposite direction as I went through the turns. Nowhere on any cg info did it mention the switchbacks.

Not sure where we are going to be either. But in Texas right now, so if you guys end up in S Texas let us know, maybe we can meet up. We're not sure if we are going to make it to AZ. We want to, but haven't decided. We are gate guarding right now. We have a pretty good gate and will probably be here for at least a month more. Hope to see ya. Ed and Lyn
