Classes of 2008 and 2009

This might sound really picky (sorry) but could everyone remember to put the state abbreviation after the city so we inexperienced Canadians can have a feel for where you are. Thank you.

Sorry Toni - I should have said Moab, UT. I always assume people know where I'm at, even I don't know. We're actually going to Flaming Gorge tomorrow (a slight change of plans) which is in both UT and WY. The weather just isn't really cooperating. Had a thunderstorm go through a little while ago. It's supposed to be raining tomorrow no matter which direction we go heading north. Jim refuses to let me turn around and go back to AZ.

Steve, Jim may never speak to you again - or at least until you want him to go fishing with you. Good luck selling the Trailblazer. We couldn't find the ice cream machine here in this area so we had to buy Jim an ice cream cone. I couldn't take his whining any longer.

Jim & Sandie, sounds like my "speed" too. Great to find a place to explore without the crowds.

I made it back from Detroit with my "new to me" pickup truck. Glad I got through Joplin Mo on Saturday as the tornado really caused a lot of damage there. Reminds me of the May 5th tornado in 1999 that came through the south side of OKC, really devastating.

I wound up with a 2008 Dodge (sorry Jim) Dakota crew cab 4x4. Black to match the MH and it already had running boards and a locking hard cover on the rear, so it was just what I wanted. It actually weighs the same as the trailblazer, so I can use the same hitch. I'm in the process of getting it rigged for towing. I just found a used front bracket package on ebay, so am bidding on that. I can get a discount on the M&G braking system by turning the old one in, so I think that's what I will wind up doing. I put the boat and motor in it yesterday and everything fits. Yahoo! Now to get the trailblazer cleaned up and ready to sell.

Looks like the Weaver's snuck into the west side of OKC yesterday, so we'll have to see when we can get together! Hmmm now I have to hide the ice cream machine again.

DON'T YOU DARE HIDE THE ICE CREAM MACHINE!!! Yep, we are on the Westside of the city for 4-days. We'll give you a call and get together before we leave on Thursday. We are going up to Stillwater for the NCAA Women's Softball Super Regionals. Did some sightseeing in OKC this morning including the OKC Memorial...a very emotional site. Going back tonight (weather permitting - TORNADO WARNINGS) to see it at night!

Steve: I'll give you a call when I know our plans!

DANG!

This is how, Paul or Marsha!

We're in Bremerton tonight and tomorrow plan on taking the ferry over to Seattle. I want to go to Pike's Market and be tempted by all that wonderful seafood. Even though we're only here for the night, I had to move my map marker. It had been stuck in the same place for a whole month. It was time to make sure the wheels weren't flat on it too!! B)

Well looks like the storms are here! One big tornado on the north west side of OKC and a few more bad storms coming from the southwest that are the ones we are concerned about. We put one of the cars in the parking garage, and keeping the other one ready to get us over there. Slides are in and we're ready to head for the shelter.

Gee Whiz, Steve,

you guys be careful!! Err on the side of caution, just to be safe!

We are finally taking our leave of Pennsylvania tomorrow, sporting a brand new F450.

we're headed to NY for a few days before getting to Boston for a few weeks.

Its amazing how stressful it can be just sitting and waiting, but we finally got the truck, whew!

Steve and Paul - you guys get to shelter as soon as you hear a siren. And let us know as soon as you can when you are safe.

We're in Dinosaur, CO tonight. After going over Douglas Pass today, Jim was beat and my nerves were shot. And then the wind came up. So we gave up on Flaming Gorge tonight and we'll head over there tomorrow morning. We're at the Visitor's Center parking lot. Works fine for tonight. Drove through rain and sleet today but at least it wasn't snow even though we saw some snow plows that were ready just in case.

Storms have moved on...talked to Steve & Carol....all safe and sound. We headed to bath house/shelter when sirens went off. Nothing really bad!

All is well :D

Paul

I forgot you folks were there too. I only worried for two and not four!! At least you're all safe and that's what counts.

It was really great catching up with Jim and Sandie here in Moab. Sorry we didn't get up to see you two off, but it was cloudy, and rainy, and chilly!

Glad to see you made it to a safe destination tonight. Flaming Gorge awaits!

Take care,

Mary and Paul

IYQ has gone missing again. I wonder if he's been using that vanishing cream again. We haven't heard from him in quite a few days. I don't think he was in tornado territory.

The last time we heard from him he was headed for Sugarite. (page 22) He wrote about having a cell signal but was having trouble with it hooking up. Maybe he's having equipment problems. The other problem he may be having is that very large areas of both state and federal parks here in New Mexico have been closed due to the drought and very high fire dangers. He may pop up in Colorado or Utah.

We weathered the storms ok. Pretty close to here though. We went in the casino, which was probably "a gamble", but I think it passed a little north of us. First time I saw the parking garage full :o . Nice here today and Paul and Marsha are coming over here for lunch. It will be nice to meet them after all this time. Well, got to go "dump tanks", a plumbers work is never done. Steve
