Hope you enjoy yours too Jim. Just wish it was warmer...

Congratulations on the first grandchild. Hope all goes well.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving back home in Tennessee, roadhousecharley. My wife and I are doing the same... onlying traveling through Tennessee. As much as I love traveling and living in our motorhome... it feels good to be getting back home to see our daughter & Son-in-Law. First grandchild due in January. Life is good!

Jim

Workin' on it. Not too bad out there today if you stay out of the wind. Sunny && 50's. Supposed to be 72 on Sunday. Can't make any promises for Christmas. Could be anything by then. By Christmas I plan to be in South FL.

Safe travels to all.

Hello FT Class of 2013,

We are a little late to the party, but we made it! We sold the farm December 2012 (after 18 years there), and took delivery of our F450 TV the same month and picked up our 5th wheel trailer in Kansas at the end of March 2013 and immediately moved in fulltime. We returned to the Eastern Shore of VA to finish our work at the Wallops Flight Facility, and plan to retire January 2014 and depart the Shore and travel our great country.

Selling the farm and keeping only those possessions that would fit in our RV has been a tremendous and emotional adventure for us last year and we just know that the adventure has barely begun. We look forward to meeting our 2013 Class and all of the like minded SKP folks...

Blessings to All.

I was wondering if this economy has caused 2013'ers to reconsider their target date.

It has definitely impacted us. Not nearly as much money in the nest egg as expected at this point or equity in the house. We still plan to hit the road July, 2013. Just feeling a little less comfortable.

We hope we can make up some of the loss over the next 2 1/2 years.

2013 - Sound Off - Have your plans survived????

Lets see how many 2013'ers there are out there!!!!!

If you plan to FT in 2013 let your clasmates know.

All of the 2013'ers SOUND OFF!!!!! laugh.gif

We are planning on outing Dec to Jan 2013. Coming out TRIP for OUR TRAVELS. We are committed to watching NEW grand child (3 months old) and old grandchild, 3 years old, 1 week a month until ..., so all our trips will be 3 weeks, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, maybe N. M. Distance is the issue. Gonna be HARD being away from all. So does this make us a member of the 2013 Class?

Do you live FT in your RV? If so I would think you are class of `13. If you are still living in a stick built for part of the time then I would not consider you class of `13. I believe that is the only determining factor.

Buggin' out of TN in a couple days and heading south. Weather forecast for the weekend is just too cold. Should overnight Saturday near Atlanta, GA.

Passed the septic inspection on the S&B and started remotely working through the punch list from the home inspection. On track for 12/6/13 closing. Wish the buyers luck on their financing. That's my main risk at this point.

Safe travels all!

Good morning. Just want to introduce ourselves. We joined Escapees in 2010, but finally got on the road to full-timing this September. It was a whirlwind when it all came into place, but things are finally settling down and I just wanted to say hello. I'm sure we'll have lots of questions along the way and are looking for some good insight. I do have an initial question to ask - not sure if I should post on a different forum, but I'll start here.

I know this has been a topic beaten to death, (and I have searched old topics and read input / advice) but . . .

Domicile / Residency - My husband and I have a business in Virginia, and that is where are residency currently is, but we would like to switch our domicile to Texas. (We do have 2 homes in Virginia, but they are rented out.) Any suggestions, ideas regarding changing residency? Is it as easy as changing your address with the P.O., getting a Texas drivers license and insurance? Does health insurance have to change - neither of us are Medicare yet? or can we keep our old insurance and go to Virginia for yearly physicals etc. at least for the time being.)

Again, sorry for bringing up what I know is must be brought up often, just looking for more insight.

Thanks!

Gayle

Quick question if you wouldn't mind. How much were the fees to repair (fogged) the double pane windows? I'm only about 1 1/2 hours from Hudson. Might be worth talking to them. How was their work? Do they have any road service?

Also congrats on graduating and welcome to the class of `13

Sorry I'm so late in responding. $225 per window, plus tax and a small fee for cleaners and such. If they have to replace glass because it is etched from the fogging add $35 per piece of glass.

They are good folks to to work with and very busy when we were there. There were at least 12 coaches there and many were having several windows repaired.

Our house closed. Yeah! :) We've been full-timing for a while, but this was a nice final step in that direction.

We will not be at the Tampa show after all as we will be on the wrong coast. After moving south from IL through KS and north TX, we spent a month in Rockport, but decided not to winter over there and headed west instead. The weather last Friday made going west on I-10 in Texas interesting. We were stopped for four hours near exit 173 waiting for a jackknifed semi to be cleared so traffic could pass. When we stopped for fuel later, we found I-10 eastbound had been closed. But, all went well with us and, other than a little slowing, we had no issues getting through. We are now stopped briefly in Red Bluff, CA on our way north to WA. The Durango RV resort is beautiful with some slots backing up to the Sacremento River. We will be leaving here tomorrow afternoon and continuing northward. Any way, that's our status update.

Congrats on the SB. I know it was a load off our minds when ours closed.

We will probably drive down to Tampa (about an hour and a half) just to visit some vendors and have a look around for something to do. We will not be taking the coach that trip. Perhaps after we get tired of the show we will head over to the casino and leave some cash behind. You can see the casino from the fairgrounds.

Hello everyone. We are joining the class of 2013 on December 14th and boy are we ready. We have planned to be in the class of 2017 for some time but with a turn of events this year the stars aligned in our favor. We finalized our decision and date the last week of September. We sold all of our big furniture on eBay and donated everything else (3 big truck loads) to the Vietnam Vets charity. We have a few pictures and tax papers left to scan. We did our license plates and title transfers through the mail with The great state of Texas which took 3 weeks. We flew to Livingston to get our Drivers Licenses two weeks ago and got our full timer insurance this week.. It has been a stressful couple of months but we are good to go now.

Welcome to fulltiming and welcome to Texas. From now on when you travel across the country people will be quick to notice your license plates. You'll hear people walking past your campsite remarking, "They're from Texas!'

When you check into campgrounds and give them your Rainbow Drive address you'll be told, "You have some neighbors here - I remember them living on the same street you do."

Just be sure to remember that being a Texan is a big responsibility. Always have a smile on your face and be friendly. (Of course, being a fulltime RVer, it's easy to keep smiling!)
