Microwave again

Recommended Posts

Replaced the failed Sharp r 1874 a year or so ago. DW cooking last night and exhaust fan made awful racket. Went outside and fan blades in discharge vent. Bummer. Found a whirlpool at Lowes that fit. Be delivered tomorrow. It is a 1100 watt unit. Sharp was 850 watt. Research exhaust fan motor for the Sharp and all I could find was used on ebay. Found them for Whirlpool. So went with that brand.

Our first 1874 lasted two years. I replaced it. The second failed after six months but was under warranty so they replaced it. We are a year into this one so we will see. Which model whirlpool fit the space? We have an over-the-stove mounting.

Our microwave took a crap this spring. Problem is its smaller than normal so having a hard time finding one. The exhaust fan still works fine.

We have a 30" opening so most fit.
