GlennWest
Replaced the failed Sharp r 1874 a year or so ago. DW cooking last night and exhaust fan made awful racket. Went outside and fan blades in discharge vent. Bummer. Found a whirlpool at Lowes that fit. Be delivered tomorrow. It is a 1100 watt unit. Sharp was 850 watt. Research exhaust fan motor for the Sharp and all I could find was used on ebay. Found them for Whirlpool. So went with that brand. GlennWest
Sure didn't. But it gets used a lot. Daily. All our baking gets done in it and we full time. Fulltimer51
I believe that heat is the biggest killer of these things. I try to run the fan after the baking until it cools down. GlennWest
Actually that Sharp exhaust fan ran anytime we used the convection automatically. Blades broke out. May have been a flaw in them. Jinx & Wayne
Our first 1874 lasted two years. I replaced it. The second failed after six months but was under warranty so they replaced it. We are a year into this one so we will see. Which model whirlpool fit the space? We have an over-the-stove mounting. jenandjon
Our microwave took a crap this spring. Problem is its smaller than normal so having a hard time finding one. The exhaust fan still works fine. Quote Farmer, Trucker, Equipment operator, Mechanic Quando omni flunkus moritati-When all else fails, play dead I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.
