Hello,

Need information on driving motorhome from Las Vegas to Laughlin,AZ.  Actual destination is Bullhead across river from Laughlin.

we will be leaving from Las Vegas, and see 2 routes on GPS.  both show elevation warnings.

As our motorhome is a 2005, don't want to stress her too much.  We unhook our toad when going over passes, but want the easiest route.

thank you

Kathleen

We traveled on US95 from Boulder City all of the way to I-40 a couple of years ago and had no issues. I have not been over the 163 part.

Quote

State Route 163 begins as a four-lane divided highway at its junction with US 95 just north of the California state line. From there, the highway negotiates some fairly steep mountain grades as it loses elevation heading east toward Laughlin. Just outside Laughlin, the divided highway comes together and intersects Casino Drive before crossing the Colorado River and entering Bullhead City, Arizona on Arizona State Route 95.

95 is a good route.  There is a pull up to Searchlight but it isn't bad.  163 down to Laughlin  is good hwy but it drops down quickly.  Gear down and hold back with the engine.  We have driven our HDT and 5er that way many times without a problem.  93 is OK but it is 2 lane where as 95 and 163 is 4 lane.  93 is a steeper climb and steeper descent.
