DesertMiner
Ok....question for you folks ......."when you use your "engine brake" do the truck/trailer brake lights activate"?
rickeieio
No, and my wife has pointed out that when I bob-tail, I might catch someone by surprise if I just back off the throttle. Yes, I do leave the Jake on when bob-tailing on clean dry roads, but I'm tandem with a heavy bed. Darryl&Rita
Depends on the model tear of the truck. Newer ones have the lights come on, older don't. Takes the fun out of the bumper sticker that says "All Jake, no brake". I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again. 2000 Kenworth T 2000 w/N-14 and 10 speed Gen1 Autoshift, deck built by Star Fabrication 2006 smart fourtwo cdi cabriolet 2007 32.5' Fleetwood QuantumPlease e-mail us here. noteven
No brake lights because it is not brakes. It is a retarder. The vehicle’s brakes will out decelerate the retarder by about 500 times.... "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
Steve from SoCal
What Darryl said, Newer trucks IIRC 2009+ do activate the brake lights with engine braking.
