Kevin H
We need to spend two nights in Oak Ridge, TN in a couple weeks. Anyone have a suggestion for an RV park in the area? Anywhere within 20 miles will work.
Rif
The Escapees Park (Raccoon Valley) in Heiskell. I wouldn't stay anyplace else.

bigjim
Be aware that in the past there was a warning about not coming to the Raccoon Valley campground from the west due to a low bridge. I found this to be true and I don't know or expect that it has changed
SuiteSuccess
Kevin, How long are you. If you want a pretty view try this one. We used to stay there a lot but now we're a little long at 65' total. http://www.caneycreekrvresort.com/
jwil1208
Just FYI, if you have the interest read The Girls of Atomic City prior to going there. It's a good read and facinating history. Then do the tour while there.
Dutch_12078
It was reading "The Girls of Atomic City" and a few other Oak Ridge related books that prompted us to visit the museum while we were staying at Raccoon Valley a few years ago. A lot of interesting history in that area!
Kevin H
Thanks everyone. I'm going with the Escapees park. Caney Creek is beautiful but it is a bit pricey for us. Especially, since we will be away from the rig the majority of the time. Won't have time to do a tour, but we will be returning since our daughter just moved there. Will definitely keep the books in mind and plan to do the tour. Merry Christmas to all!!!
