Thanks VegasFlyer

We were on the blue diamond hwy from Las Vegs to Pahrump. Right at the end of 2 lanes with construction barrier on my side. Truck decided to stop running. It had been acting up, running rough the past 100 miles. Running rough at about 1500 rims. I knew it was the fuel filter but with my stiffness and recovering from cancer and chemo, I didn't want to change it myself. I was going to go to Speedco tomorrow. I had to restart the truck 3 times to nurse it to the side of the road at the end of the baracades. I wasn't there long when this nice gentleman pulls up. We chat a little bit as I am emptying my tools looking for what I need. He asked if I was on the forum and revealed he was VegasFlyer. He stayed u till I got the filter changed and the truck restarted. I really appreciate it. Maybe we can get together during the next couple days before I leave here.

Oh, when I dropped the fuel filter, a bunch of black sludge ran out. I assume it is due to the biodiesel I have been running. That is all that was available. I need to get a couple more filters to carry with me. I will try to find a Speedco up near Reno in a couple weeks. The truck runs like it used too now.

Ron,

It was good to meet you and your charming wife. Obviously, it was not your first rodeo, you had everything for the task and made quick work of changing the filter.

Are you staying at the SKP park? I will try and swing by in the afternoon tomorrow or Wednesday.

Glad to hear Vegas was able to happen by to give you a hand with the filter.

We are working on the latest Dolly-the-paint-horse camp just North of Pahrump at the foot of Last Chance Peak so its a easy 20 minutes drive in to Pahrump. We have a assortment of cars and rigs that you are welcome to use during your stay in Pahrump if you like.

We have a family owned heavy truck shop & and parts chain that we use up in Oregon that has high quality Lubrfiner Filters (U S A made) at prices that are wholesale AND they will direct ship right to your RV in Pahrump Same Day. These folks only do Heavy Truck Service and parts and as a Looong-time family business they are a joy to deal with. All of their locations have great shops and the Home Headquarters location has a very large CNC machine shop that makes custom truck parts as well.

Feel free to give me a ring on my cell (520) 891-3695 and maybe I could sneak away from the slave labor of remodeling the latest Dolly-the-paint-horse camp...maybe we could kidnap Vegas and have him regal us geezers with sin-city stories over lunch or dinner.....

Drive on......(enjoy.... Pahrump)

How about we get together for lunch tomorrow. If that is good for everyone, let me know when and where.[/quote

If Mex food works ....we could meet at noon tomorrow at ElJeffe's on the right side of Hyw 160 as you head North through Pahrump (they have a sign with script in RED).

If casino grub I'd desired the Nuget Casino has fair grub.

Having survived on airport food most of my life I seem to be able to consume almost anything so feel free to choose whatever cuisine you desire....noon works well for me.... I will be the geezer in a tan Suzuki Samurai.....If Vegas needs another time just drop me a line.

Star dreamer.....we are counting on you to

Attend this lunch....the longest distance attendee get to buy lunch... ? (Star, I forgot I owe you a weight & Balance spreadsheet so......I'll give you the spreadsheet at lunch....?

Drive on

....(Lunch is ....good)

That would work for me and the DW.

What time is best for everyone?

Wow, Dolly and the Dollymomma are out on a trail stirring up the rattlesnakes on Last Chance Peak so.....I called her and she said I could take her to dinner this evening but she is a Leary of eating with a bunch of wannabe truckers but I told her that Vegas is also a pilot and she said ok she knows me from my former pilot-life and I was fairly harmless.....

So this means I better put fresh water in the Dolly-the-paint-horse water trough and take my monthly cowboy bath before riding Ito the big city Pahrump...

How's 5:30 sound?

Drive on.... (Wild time in Pahrump...tonite)

Well I guess I missed dinner. I could have made it tomorrow if one of you pilots flew here to pick me up (I live near the Hartsville SC international airport, OK international is stretching it quite a bit but I do think it is a paved runway). Too busy tonight trying to stuff 3000 square foot of house and a 1700 square foot garage into a house that is 1600 square foot with a 600 square foot garage. Maybe that weight and balance sheet would help me!

Luckily the snow shovels can be put up in the attic since it sounds like they are not needed here in SC.

Have fun at your get together. Remember to post pictures or it didn't happen.

Star...just post your best balance credit card to the restaurant here and we'll drink a few Dr. Peppers in your honor....

Moving tip.....put the snow shovels above the fireplace mantel and then put the rest of the stuff in the Attic....

I am a surviving bird-man and have used up my lives so it will be up to Vegas to land on the itty-bitty runway to pick you up after you get the attic stuffed....

Drive on......(Pahrump will never be the same after the ....Western HDT dinner rally tonight)

The guys and their wives had a nice time of eating and visiting for 2 1/2 hours. Those that were not able to attend missed out. No pictures were taken to protect the innocent and the guilty. Looking forward to the next time.

Indeed, we all had a very nice meal and enjoyed great conversation ....much of the world's RV problems were solved and the wives had a nice chat as well...

Being geezers we waited as long as we could for Star to show up but we finally deduced that perhaps he stuffed so much stuff into attic that he could not got out....maybe next time Star.

As we left the restaurant Ron took time to show us his amazing T2000 with a roll-back bed that he hauls his Jeep on....very robust and nicely proportioned and functions perfectly for his full-time on the road.

I was so happy that I got up this morning and fired up the airless and painted the Dolly Headquarters here at Last Chance Peak.....Valspar Reserve Ultra is very nice house paint.... maybe park the Dollytrolley next to the shop and give it a coat of Valspar at the same time that I shoot the shop.....maybe not...

Drive on.....(Hope Star gets out of the attic)
