Al F
It looks like Winnebago is building their 31'6", 2017 Vista model 31KE on a 16,000 pound chassis instead of the 18,000 chassis. Link to the "sneak peak" brochure. Way to go Winnebago! By the time you get your water tank full, partially full black & gray tanks, all your cargo on board for a multi week or multi month trip, I see no way that you won't be way, way over the GVWR. It would be so simple to just build it on the 18,000 pound chassis, like the other two ~30 foot long rigs in the Vista line. Or at least offer the 18,000 pound chassis as an option. Al F
BTW, I like the floor plan and would consider trading up my 2006, 29' Winnebago, built on a 18,000 chassis, to the 31KE, but not while it is on a 16,000 chassis! Kirk W
Makes me wonder if it might be a misprint since the two models just below it show an 18,000# GVWR? Al F
I wondered if it was a misprint, but the individual axle weights match the GVWR. Of course that could be a misprint as well. I did send an email to Winnebago about the weights. If/when I get a reply I'll update the topic. Jack Mayer
Makes me wonder if it might be a misprint since the two models just below it show an 18,000# GVWR? I'm with Kirk - I'd guess a misprint, since Winnie is not known for overloading the chassis. Jack & Danielle Mayer #60376 Lifetime Member Living on the road since 2000PLEASE no PM's. sandsys
Even when proofreading we sometimes read what we thought we wrote not what we actually wrote. When proofreading really counts I prefer to read my document out loud--slows me down enough to catch the errors I previously missed. Al F
I received this canned reply from Winnebago: Thank you for your inquiry and interest in Winnebago Industries. We appreciate hearing comments and your e-mail has been passed along to our Product Development Team for review. Hopefully I'll hear back from the Product Development Team in a few days. holstein13
Looks like the full wall slideout models are on 18,000 pounds and the smaller slides are on 16,000 pound chassis.
