fsujeeper
mine has power steering. We drove both and there was not much of a difference.
Jack Mayer
We had a choice when we bought. W b ought without the power steering....Neither of us felt that it was necessary. My philosophy was why have another thing to go wrong, if it is not needed. But we would have bought one with it if we did not find one without. Buscrusher
For us it's helpful because my wife doesn't have much arm strength. It's most noticeable at parking speeds. Big5er
It's most noticeable at parking speeds. I can get my four wheel drive Ford F-250 into a parking space with one finger in the steering wheel, but need both hands to park the smart. Of course, I also have wider tires than most on here and that could make some of the difference. The old one had power steering, the new one doesn't. If I had to do it all over again, I probably would have gotten it. billr
Our 05 didn't have it and the 2011 dioes. Not sure I can tell the diff. Don't let it be a factor. IMHO Pure is the basic model and Passion is the loaded one. Some Pures have extra packages like wheels and interior stuff that is std in passion. If you like the bells and whistles in you cars the go for the Passion. They most all have the good stuff. Running wise and function is zero diff. I like the Passion features. Be careful with the Brabus model. They have lower front and rear trim that may not clear ramps and ground loading. Ok more than you maybe asked for. HERO Maker
What Bill said. Our old smart (2013) didn't have power, but the new 2015 does. I can only tell it when parking. And yes, the Brabus is lowered in the front per the mechanics.
