NoDirectionHome
ask them if "correcting the Ackerman angles is included in the quote?" Out of curiosity, how is ackerman adjusted on a big truck? Are various steering arms available? Do they just heat and bend? (hope not) Scrap??? noteven
Out of curiosity, how is ackerman adjusted on a big truck? Are various steering arms available? Do they just heat and bend? (hope not) Scrap??? The first range of adjustment will be the tie rod length. But yes various Ackerman arms are used. I know an alignment specialist - I can ask what the wheelbase can be changed before arms are changed. Edit - here is a nice explanation of what the geometry does: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ackermann_steering_geometry "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever. noteven
I had a chat to talk to the alignment specialist mentioned - he said you can make a substantial change to wheelbase before adjustment cannot be made and the parts need to be changed. Onward and upward with the fun stuff now - floor plans - ceiling beds - etc Hope this helps "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
