CHIEFWAHO
Anyone familiar Coleman Semi Truck Back Wall A/C 46103-8114 I need something but do not want to roof mount. Truck has generator, thought this may be just the ticket. http://rvcomfort.com/rvp/products/special/backwall.php http://www.rvcomfort.com/rvp/pdf_documents/1976607.pdf 1999 Volvo VNL610, Cummins M11 - 350/400 HP, 10 speed Rockwell - 'CHIEF' Custom flatbed with TrailerSaver air hitch. 3 cyl 8000 watt Kubota diesel generator. MsChrissi
No, but also look at the Dometic split system they make for semi's.
VegasFlyer
If you are looking at generator or shore powered, what about any of the smaller split systems like LG or Hitachi? SuiteSuccess
If you are looking at generator or shore powered, what about any of the smaller split systems like LG or Hitachi? Vegas, They are not robust enough to undergo the vibration imparted on them by our trucks. My nephew is an expert on the mini- splits and he even checked with his engineers and they all said some type of vibration damping system would have to be included in the mounting. I had the same thoughts as you couple of years ago since we would only be using the system on occasion. 2006 Volvo 780 "Hoss" Volvo D12, 465hp, 1650 ft/lbs tq., ultrashift Bed Build by "JW Morgan's Custom Welding" 2017 DRV 39DBRS3 2013 Smart Passion Coupe "Itty Bitty" "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. VegasFlyer
Yeah, that's why I put it out as a question. It would be pretty clear as far as operating while driving down the road that there could be issues. I was wondering more of operating only while parked and running on a generator or batteries. To that point, it would not be hard to facilitate a vibration dampened mounting system. There are a lot of mounts used for helicopter components that are not high cost items. The unit like the Coleman would be clearly more stout, though I am sure that the price tag is also fairly heavy duty.....lol John Southern Nevada 2008 Volvo 780, D13, I-Shift 2017 Keystone Fuzion 420 Toyhauler 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3-RS

CHIEFWAHO
The truck a/c does just fine. This would only be used only on shore power or by trucks on-board generator. There is an RV place near Joplin that have these. They are around $1300. Found out they are made in Wichita but must go thru a dealer for purchase. 1999 Volvo VNL610, Cummins M11 - 350/400 HP, 10 speed Rockwell - 'CHIEF' Custom flatbed with TrailerSaver air hitch. 3 cyl 8000 watt Kubota diesel generator. Just curious, Have you heard if anyone tried vibration isolation mounts? redcrzr
I have a broken mini-split system on my Volvo right now. HVAC guy can't fix it. Looks to be a mounting & isolation issue, as talked about above. I too would like to find an alternative.
