DJW
I cannot believe that DOD is doing this and I cannot believe the NFL is accepting it. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-teams-paid-to-thank-troops-at-games/ar-BBjrIxA These are the men and women who served their country which allowed the people in the NFL to do what they do and get paid a ton of money for it. It is enough to make me want to stop watching NFL games, of which I watch very few anyway. Dennis
pjstough
Why blame the NFL teams? The military offered them money for these tributes, and the teams took it. It is really any different than the Military spending money on NASCAR. It is all about spending money for recruiting. Paul
Cyberdave
Dennis, It's been going on this way for a long time. Esp. in NASCAR. Doesn't make it right or even okay but, that's the way it is.
chirakawa
More of the Walmart mentality. Everything is for sale. We are all to blame. We are a country of people who only care about the dollar.
Jim & Alice
I cannot believe that DOD is doing this and I cannot believe the NFL is accepting it. Dennis I am with you. But I think moneyed 'cronyism' is becoming how we do government & business in America. And I have heard that the military is having a tough time meeting their recruiting goals... as well as the NFL becoming cash obsessed. Jim
DJW
Dave/Paul I don't see this as the same as sponsoring a NSACAR team which is out there competing for something. This is saying Thank You to the folks who have served their country, and some have paid a heavy price. I don't see this as a recruiting tool. To me this is the NFL pretending to care when in reality they do not. Dennis

buzz64
It bothers me to see the Government/military spending all that money on sports for recruiting when Vets are dying because there is not enough money to hire enough professionals to care for them. Pay big money to get a soldier but not take care of them. How disposable does this make the Veteran feel? It does nothing for how I feel about serving this country. A football player is valued more than a soldier.
markandkim
You're only as strong as your weakest link. I know I've heard that somewhere before. The problem is that it's at the very top and that's never good. Hope and change, PLEASE!

Chris-n-Dennis
What is not mentioned is the money is from the recruiting budget and the contract written is advertising dollars for recruiting. The tributes are simply the method the NFL is using to comply with the contract. SNAFU
