LindaH
This isn't a problem with the Discussion Forum website, but, rather, with the new Escapees website. I went to the Escapees website today to put in a mail forwarding request. A box pops up and says the website has been redesigned and everyone needs to register again. Fine. I enter the same User Name as previously, and I get the message that that User Name is already in use (yes, by ME!) and to choose another. OK, so I select another User Name. THEN I get the message that the email address I used is already in use (again, it's MY email address!) and to choose another. Sorry, I don't have another email address. So I called the office and the person to whom I spoke tried it and said she got the same error message. She also said that other people were having the same problem and to call back on Monday...that *hopefully* the problem will have been resolved by then! If you're going to make everyone reregister again, then why in the world wouldn't you ERASE all the previous User's Names and email addresses so that they are no longer in the system to cause this type of problem?!? So, if you previously had an Escapees member log-in User Name and Password for the OLD Escapees website, don't expect to be able to register on the NEW Escapees website until this problem is resolved. End of rant. LindaH 2014 Winnebago Aspect 27K 2011 Kia Soul

2gypsies
I re-registered today and it accepted my previous user name and email but wouldn't accept the old password which I had to change. So it seems three different people had three different results. LindaH
Nothing was ever said about my password, which was the same as previously. My first error message, as I mentioned above, was regarding my User Name and the second error message was regarding my email address. I tried just logging in using my previous User Name and Password, but got the error message "User Name and Password do not match or you do not have an account yet." Here's the error messages from my third attempt to register: Warning The username you entered is not available. Please pick another username. The email address you entered is already in use or invalid. Please enter another email address. Lasttruck, are you saying that you were able to log in WITHOUT registering first? lasttruck
Linda, that is correct. I just closed the pop up register window and click on the log in button. When that pop up appeared, I clicked on the user name window and then double clicked (saved to computer) and the password auto generated. Clicked the Log In button and entered the site. Just tried it again. No problems. sherev
I also got the pop-up window and had to change my password to conform to the new requirements. So far that's working. But, I was trying to look at the Vacancy Chart at Sumter Oaks (and everywhere else) and that is stuck in November 2014. If you try to click on December and/or January (your only other choices) you get the hateful Error 404. Also can't find the waiting list for the ERPU that was previously on the site. Is this still a "work in progress" or have things just been eliminated, or are there just some glitches (major/minor) that are going to be adjusted soon? Anyone have an answer or advice. Thanks for the response(s).

I've tried the log-in but got the error message noted above...and I can't register due to the two error messages also noted above. I sure would like to get my mail! lasttruck
I had accessed the new Xscapers website when it came online. Wonder if that has anything to do with the new Escapees website. I am using the same user name and password on both. LindaH
I finally was able to register, but without any help from the Escapees office. As I mentioned above, I had called the Escapees office on Friday and was told to call back on Monday since they were working on the problem, but didn't have a solution yet. On Monday, I again tried to register with the same results as before. So I called the Escapees office a second time and, after verifying that what I was saying was true, I was told someone would call me back. No one called back so this morning I called a third time talking to a person who couldn't understand what my problem was -- "Did you check your email for the link to complete the registration?" "No, I am not able to get that far in the process!" We went around and around this issue ("Well, did you check your Spam folder?") until I was finally able to make it clear that I would never receive any kind of email since I was not able to fill out the six boxes and click on the "Register" button without getting the error messages noted above. The person to whom I was speaking talked with someone else who said that they'd reset my account and I was to try registering again in 10 minutes. I gave it 30 minutes and STILL was not able to complete the registration process. I called back for the fourth time and was told that someone would call me back. Since I was now not confident that anyone would actually call me back (still haven't received a call as I write this), I took matter into my own hands and created a NEW Gmail account to use. I changed my User Name from the one I used on the old site (because one of the error messages said it was already in use) and used the new email address I had just created. Registration successful! The very strange thing was, however, that once I entered the link I got in the email and entered my SKP number and the email address I'd just created, it didn't like my new email address...I had to use my ORIGINAL email address that I had been trying to use in the registration process! This whole thing has been a total SNAFU! It should not be this difficult to re-register for the new Escapees website and I'm very disappointed at the Escapees' response to my situation (which was no help at all). sherev
Linda, I agree that this has been an absolutely horrific situation to deal with. I am also very disappointed with the fact that I have raised my questions and no one, to date, has responded--not even acknowledged that I've raised questions. As a "newbie", I'm hoping that this is not an indicator of what I have to look forward to if there are any future issues. Makes me a bit apprehensive about "placing my eggs in this basket"! Thanks for sharing.
traviscarr
Your old account will not work. You need to register a new account with the new site. We could not transfer old accounts because it is a new system. We don't not have the ability to view passwords or transfer passwords which is the reason everyone must create a new account. Think of the site as a brand new site you have never visited before.
traviscarr
User names are unique so if someone already register an account with that username you will not be able create an account with that username.
SWharton
I tried registering yesterday. Couldn't do it. Sent an email and had a call back. I was told our email addresses are case sensitive!!!!! I had them reset mine to all lower case and it still doesn't work. Very disappointed in this transition to the new site. Will try again in a week or so. There doesn't seem to be any movement toward correcting the problem.
LindaH
User names are unique so if someone already register an account with that username you will not be able create an account with that username. I can't imagine anyone else registering on the new site with the User Name I used on the old site. Guess it's possible, but seems unlikely. However, I did create a NEW User Name when I registered yesterday. But the problem with the User Name does not address the problem with the other error message I was receiving -- that the email address I was entering was already in use. Now, I KNOW that no one else has my same email address, so this is a failure of the new system when it comes to registering a new account. In order to get registered, I had to go to GMail and create a whole new email address -- it's the only way I could get registered! My biggest disappointment, however, was the response (or non-response) from the Escapees office. I was told yesterday morning (and Monday morning, too) that someone would call me back -- I'm still waiting for those calls 24+ hours later. At this juncture in time, of course, it's a moot point since I did find a way to get registered. But if someone says they'll call back, they should make good on that promise. LindaH
I was told our email addresses are case sensitive!!!!! Really? That certainly is not my experience! If your email address was, for example, SWharton @ email.com, I could send you an email addressed to swharton @ email.com and it'd get to you just fine. Can't imagine why the new Escapees website would have been designed to make email addresses case sensitive!? sherev
I did not have to change my username. I only had to change my password (and I only made an adjustment to it). This explanation doesn't work for me. There is obviously a glitch in the system that is causing a problem for some that really needs to be addressed. It seems a little crazy that someone has to not only has to set up a new account here, but also needs to set up a whole new e-mail address as a means of correcting a problem that wasn't caused by the e-mail system or account. SWharton
I agree with LindaH about email addresses. I have never heard of them being case sensitive before but according to Escapees on the new site they "are". Poor deisgn if true. But even after they re-entered my email in all lower case I can't get registered. I worked in computers for 30 years, this all should be a simple fix if programmed correctly. debinvenice
Hi Newbie here who was also having problems registering. I used the "forgot password" form to send me a link to create a new password for the site. The email had a long verification code I had to enter (copy & paste) but I was then able to create and new password and sign in. My username and email address are now working properly.
