I've had barbequed possum but, not buttered...must be an Oklahoma delicacy...LOL!

You also had some road kill rattlesnake a couple of years ago I believe. I'm not that adventurous with what I eat.

It wasn't that good as I recall...maybe if it was cooked differently. Maybe some more butter? ;)

We met Dave and Diane at the farmers market in Pocatello this morning then went to lunch at a local brewery. It had been a long time since we had seen them. They are doing well and the new truck is pretty. We'll get together again this winter in Arizona.

Travel safe everyone.

I want to share with you a few pieces of a note I received today from IYQ and his niece. They wrote it together. If you want to send him a card, let me know and I'll give you his address. I don't want to post the address online.

-----------------------------------------------------

"He hasn't been able to read and write emails on his own, but he is doing speech and occupational therapy so hopefully we will see some improvements soon.

He moved in about 2 weeks ago and is still adjusting. His speech is a little jumbled, but the Therapist thinks he can definitely help Lee's speech. Anyway, just wanted to update you guys on Lee. He has turned off his cell phone (his number is still connected, he just won't answer the phone), because he says he can't answer it. He laughed pretty heartily at your joke about breaking him out! Ha ha I wish and I know he wishes that he could still be out traveling around. "

Take Care,
Lee and Cameron

Thanks Jeri. I think Escapees did a reset and lost my previous post.

Friday was a move day from Pocatello to Boise. I managed to strain my lower back getting ready to leave and its ok now. Then got sprayed with the hose at the dump station by you know who. The drive to Boise was uneventful but set up wasn't. Tina was moving the big slide out when one of the slide topper brackets ripped off. We got it fixed I think.

Been chillin' this afternoon watching drag racing on Fox.

Travel safe everyone.

Sorry to hear about your back. The uneventful drive is like we all want our drives to be. We had some slide toppers replaced when we were in Florida -- not fun and a little issue in itself but all is good now, we hope.

Where you heading after Boise? We had our last birthday party today for another month. We've had four of them in a row and glad that's over with. A family reunion follows next weekend. My cousin is in charge of hosting this year but she wanted to host it at our place .... ugh. When that's over and if Terry doesn't have any more follow appointments, we're taking off for vacation. All I can say is it's about time. We need a rest!! Not quite sure where we'll head yet .... maybe Glacier and maybe not. You know how that goes.

Oh I forgot there was also an episode with the black tank before we left Pocatello too. What a day.

We are going as far north as Coeur d'Alene, Id. not sure when we'll get there though. Then through Walla Walla and along the Columbia toward the coast before going south.

Gosh Jeri, four birthdays??? You can't say you're not getting older now! Ha ha! I know they are not all yours, but it sure sounds funny. Then the big bust in the new vehicle. Hmmm you guys are busy that's for sure. That glacier run sounds like a great idea, we sure liked it over there. I hope Terry can get a handle on his allergies, that's no fun, of course if it gets him a new truck....hmmmm!

Jeff, are you trying to upstage Robin Williams in RVII??

Lee, if you read this, I'm not quite ready to tell you where the ice cream machine is yet. You're going to have to get better so you can grill me about the location!! That should give you some incentive to keep the rehab going. :D Just know that you are in our thoughts every day and wish you the best. Steve

Jeff, there is a great Elks Club in Coeur d' Alene. They are electric and water with no dump on site, but the place is really nice. There is a dump not too far from there. Steve

Let us know when you hit portland. If we're around we have hookups. It's kind of remote but does have huge pool, hot tub, lake, kayaks, etc etc. We just have to let you in and out cuz it's gated.

We probably won't hit idaho for a couple weeks either. We have to get around a reunion on the 20th first.

Yesterday Tina and I went to the drag races at Firebird Raceway near Boise, Idaho. I needed my fix, I miss my racing. I didn't know until the end of the night when the jet cars were about to run I heard his name. Richard Smith. I had not seen this guy for nearly 45 years. He was a neighbor during my early teen years and he is younger than me. Small world we live in anymore. We found him in the pit area and talked for 15 minutes or so. He and his mother live in Oregon now instead of Kansas where I last saw him. That was really cool. A great ending for a fun night.

That really is cool when you run into old acquaintances. Did you two recognize each other right away? Some people hardly change and others look like they were rode hard!

When I moved from the neighborhood he was 13 or 14, so he has changed. When I mentioned my name he remembered right a way, even my first car. I had heard from another friend years ago that Richard raced jet cars but our paths never crossed until Friday. It was good.

Okay, today was maintenance day. I pulled up the jacks and headed out to Speedco on the west side of OKC. I got there about 10:00 and had only one rig ahead of me. Everything went fine until the mechanic was getting the secondary fuel filter off. It was really tight and when it finally gave, his wrench hit one of the fuel lines going into the filter and broke it right off. Well, it was a 6' fuel line and it seemed no one in OKC had one. Freightliner, no, all of the Cummins places and RV places NO!! It looked like we were going to have to push the bus outside and overnight one from Dallas. How come Dallas always has the parts. Does anyone ever brake down in Dallas?? Hmmmmm Anyway just as we were going to have to resort to that, one of the Speedco people found a small hose shop in South OKC that could make one up. Hurray!! They made it up and installed it by 4:00 and I was done. The Speedco people were really good about it, and gave me a $40 off coupon that I can use the next time. I felt sorry for the mechanic as it was something any one of us could have done (he must have apologized at least 10 times) and since I used to run a large automotive shop I know how things like that can (and do) happen. The one thing that got me was that I had to open the bedroom access panel so they could get to the other end of the hose. I had never done that in this bus before and was not sure I even could. Turns out it was not that bad and I didn't even have to get the piano out of the way. (that's another story). I got out of there and had an easy drive back to the fairgrounds, but when I got here it was farmers market night and I had to plow through the crowd to get back into my spot. Managed to do that and now I'm hooked again and ready for anything. Whew! That's all I know...........................Steve

We're having a great time here in Ignacio, CO with Dave and Diane and Dianne and Tom. We went bowling yesterday at the casino where I promptly pulled a muscle in my thigh. Hadn't bowled in about 30 years and I don't recall bowling being that "strenuous"!

Glad to hear that all turned out well for you Steve! Reminds me of a similar incident we had with a leaking fuel hose. The shop had to really hunt around in Fayetteville, AR to find a replacement. When they did and went to install it (late in the day) they discovered that the "custom cut" hose was too short...argh. Had to send for another and got to drive back to the Elks in rush hour traffic.

We'll have to slate for discussion your incident in this afternoon's cranberry session!

I had the motor shaft for my big slide strip when I was in Perry, Mo. I could not get the motor out to replace. I talked to one of the gate attendants at the COE park and he said this man who lives across the road from the park had helped people on their RV s before and might help me. I called him and he came over and we worked on it for a while but could not remove it. I had to cut the shaft to remove the motor. The man had a shop where we took the shaft and he welded an adapter so I could install the new motor. The man only charged me for the parts and was very resourceful on making the adapter for the shaft. The mans name was Bill Kuhlmann and in 1987 he broke the 200MPH mark in the Pro Stock class, Very nice man. He invited Janice and I over to his house and we meet his wife and some of his children, He showed us his trophies and a video of his motor blowing which caused him to spend several weeks in the hospital.
