Roger & Lynn
So glad to hear the good news from Lee, Jim and Sandy! Not much to report from here in the QC's. Finishing up with dentists, docs and seeing old friends. We should be heading north soon. Gotta keep following that pollen belt...LOL! R Quote Roger & Lynn Rempe Class of 2012 & "Class-less"! sandsys
I got up here by noon on the third day and got my new drivers license taken care of. Barb wants to use one more day and go to Deadwood then stop and see a mutual friend in Denver on the way back before she has to report to work at the Lo-Hi RV Ranch. We are doing great so I'm happy. I'm so glad you got the driver's license thing taken care of. I was fearful you would have a seizure at the DMV and lose your license forever. Not that I think you should be driving right now but, hopefully, some day you will fully recover. The trip back sounds like it could be more relaxing in many ways. I certainly hope so. sandsys
We finally got out of town. Jim got a great report from the cancer doc yesterday and we left town this morning. We're in Wikieup for the night and it feels so good to be on the road. Yay for Jim's good report. And for finally being on the road headed north! Wanderin
Good news for Jim. I love when every one gets that kind of news. Now the good thing is you won't have to go back for 10 years ! Enjoy yourselves, sightsee and take your time getting back ! Don't you feel free? Happy to hear about Jim too. Onthego
We moved to Prescott Valley, Az. from Tempe, Az. A hundred mile drive but quite the change in temperature. I actually ran the furnace to take the chill off. It was about 50 degrees in the RV. First time in along time we've run a heater. What a change from Tempe. Here for a few days then on to the Grand Canyon for a couple. Hope everyone's broken hands heal soon so we can get some posts on here again. LOL. Be safe everyone. Jeff I bet you were happy to have the need for the furnace again. My hands are not broken but we are still sitting in Grants Pass so not a bunch worth writing about. I think all of the Dr. and other appointments are all wrapped up, we have seem about all our friends and have been out to eat more times that I can count and I might have already mentioned that I sold the Gold Wing trike I had in storage. We were scheduled to leave here on the 1st but for some reason we are waiting for a new truck to be delivered so we have extended our stay until the 23rd of June, IF this truck dal works out we need to hang around long enough to get it tow ready and we will put the Jeep in the storage unit for a while and pull a plush riding pickup. hdrider
Congrats on the truck D & D. What'd ya get? Well first off no money has exchanged hands but if the truck arrives when promised we will move forward with the deal. It will be a Ram Laramie 1500 quad cab and a Ecodiesel engine loaded up with all the creature comforts. We just don't wheel the jeep like we used to so figured pampering ourselves with things like leather heated & cooled seats and room enough in the back for maybe a new toy was in order. The Ecodiesel and it's 27mpg highway rating sounded pretty good as well. hdrider
Sweet...and room in the back seat for Lynn & me! LOL,, it's just the Quad cab and not the comfortable Crew Can setup so don't eat to much. It's sort of like the chairs I used to have in my office, they provided a place to sit but not comfortable enough for people to stay long LOL!! The seat in the back of the Jeep has only been used about 3 times in the 3 1/2 years we have been on the road and has mainly been down for storage. I bet the truck will be about the same unless I find some sort of bet cover we like. hdrider
Sounds like a nice set up! Does it have a locking steering wheel? No locking steering wheel, just push a button to place transfer case in N, put the gear selector "knob" in park and drive. Actually easier than the jeep. And you are right Roger about the room, that's part of the reason for the change. We might actually stay longer in one spot this coming year and expand our touring circle and see how that works. I really like the size o the rear area of a crew cab but then I also want to keep the length down a little for those tighter parking situations and there's just 2 of us anyway. sandsys
Hope everyone's broken hands heal soon so we can get some posts on here again. LOL. My fingers are cracked and peeling but I type anyway. Sometimes bandages make that more of a challenge than other times and I occasionally have to clean blood or ointment off my keys but when I think I have something to say, I say it. Heading for Alaska Tuesday. It' amazing how fast the weathermen change the forecast. What about having a winefest this winter? Marsha and Paul do it during the summer so why can't we do it during the winter. There are quite a few of us that will be close to the Phoenix area for a few months.
