I'd go to Hawaii again in a minute but I'm not so sure about sharing rooms. The last time we shared a room the other guy snored loudly all night so we got very little sleep.

To me sharing a room with just my daughter isn't a bad thing at all. She'll be working most days and I'll be playing. However, I may need to dedicate some of that playtime to naptime since she'll be free at night and I know she'll want to go then.

Which Island are you visiting? Could be a little on the warm side there. We may change our plans also, thinking maybe Cliff Side Park on NAS Whidbey. Will check there availability today.

It's just on the main island. She's on a business trip and that's where the business is. We've been to Hawaii quite a few times but it's been years since then. One day I'd like to do the big island and Maui. We like Kauai but never been to those .... can't drive the RV there.

Well. another million goat heads bit the dust this morning but there are many more to take their place. I chopped at them till my hip started complaining then came on to the shop to cool down.

I need a small piece of sheet metal to fix a rain cap over my AC. The manager keeps saying he'll have the Maintenance man do it but it isn't getting done. I think I'll plan a trip over to Las Cruces to Lowe's home improvement just to have something to do. I think they have small 2 x 4 sheets of sheet metal. If not I can play like Terry and buy a truck load of cool toys to put on the next free table at Q. LOL. I like just wandering around in Lowe's to see what's new. There are a couple of other guys here that want to go over there also. We can have a bachelor party all day. It isn't Hawaii but it will have to do.

While you are at Lowes look for a Hula Ho, they are fantastic for plucking goatheads and you don't need to chop, one swipe and the whole plant is cut off the root and ready to bag all in one piece.

We used one on our acre before we retired and it one swipe to sever the crown from the root. Then you'd pick up the crown and all the arms would come along to be dropped in a trash bag. It saved a whole lot of work and was far easier on our arms than a regular hoe or shovel when going after goatheads or stink-squash.

Stanley, that's what I'm using. These 85 year old bones wouldn't be able to use a standard hoe anymore. Hola hoe, shuffle hoe, sterup hoe I don't care what they call it but it sure is a back saver.

Still fighting the battle with the goat heads. However I'm beginning to see progress. I actually have to hunt for them now. This place is about 1/3 mile square so there is lots of places for them to hide. I finished the roads in the storage area today but haven't done the actual storage lots. I think I'll leave that to the gal that does the weeding. I just started doing this to get the upper hand on them and for something constructive to do while taking my morning walk. Today is a little hot so I didn't do as much as usual. I know I'm not supposed to work on Sunday but they don't stop producing burrs on Sunday and it really isn't that much work.

The gal that will be putting on the Mesquite pancake breakfast. Had a trial run this morning. It was good but the pancakes don't hold together like regular pancakes so we will try another recipe sometime during the week which could make it easier for her to cook for the whole group. This recipe had Oatmeal and Whole Wheat flour in it. That is probably what made it crumbly. We'll try leaving out the oats and use white flour instead and see if it might be a better texture. It sure tasted good the way it was but a little hard to flip the cakes while cooking. We had both Prickly Pear syrup and Agave Nectar on them. I like the Prickly Pear best. It has a little Twang to it.

I went to town for breakfast this morning to get my once a week eggs. I had promised one of the cowgirls I'd take her to the doctor's office so I came right back after breakfast but the doctor had called and told her she didn't have to come in but just go pick up a new prescription they had called in to Wal-Mart. Now I have to go back into town to the bank to deposit a couple of dividend checks. I sure get in a lot of driving that way. The Weeding lady borrowed my hula-ho this morning so I'm not out murdering goat heads in this heat today. I'm ready for winter already. Skiing anybody?

First time for everything I guess. Here we sit waiting for a tow truck because our motorhome won't start. Engine turns over, but will not stay running. Stalls out and black smoke comes from the exhaust. We are in Thayne Wyoming (middle of no where). Coach net has found a repair place in Idaho Falls and we are waiting for a tow truck out of Jackson. Praying it isn't to expensive. Maybe something simple. oh well, trying to keep busy while waiting. At least we are not on the side of the road somewhere.

Ed and Linda, sorry about your rig being a little stubborn this morning. The black smoke suggest that it just flooded perhaps the automatic chock hung up for a while. I hope It's more cooperative from now on.

This morning a friend who wants to go to Lowes home improvement with me tomorrow helped me take all the stuff out of the truck so we'll have room to bring back all the treasures we find while shopping at Lowe's. Before we were done un-loading two more friends ask to join us. With 4 people buying stuff I don't know if the truck will hold it all. I might come back with a new utility trailer wheather I want to or not..

We are back to the hot weather again. 104 right now and according to the weather prevaricator it's going to be around for a while. Somehow that SNOW word doesn't sound like cussin' anymore. Fortunately the morning stays cool until nearly noon. If I want to get something done I have to do it before noon or it just don't get done. My walking program takes second seat every time I have a chore to do.

Well, we made it to Rock Springs, Wy. This was our original plan because we needed to get new house batteries. Ours are 6 years old and are starting to give us problems. I found a battery store here in Rock Springs that sells the good deep cycle batteries like we have now. So once we got the motorhome started (and it never gave us any other problem so Lee I think you might have been right about the flooding of the engine) we have not had any other problem with that. However, Sandie remember when we had the problem in Helena with overheating? Well it wasn't just the fluids because we are still having the problem, so we found a freightliner place here and we have an appointment tomorrow at 7:30am to have that fixed. He seems to think it might be just a dirty radiator and maybe a thermostat. Then if that isn't enough.....we had a rock hit our windshield and it cracked. An inch lower and it would have missed totally. So while we are here, we will also get that fixed, I hope.

So here we sit at Walmart. Glad to be in a fairly big town to get all these things fixed.

I just discovered that a 2015 Escapade was being held in March in Tucson. We've never been to one. Anyone going? Anyone interested?

Jeri, We're thinkin' about goin' too. Haven't found any details for it.

Ed & Linda, sorry to hear about the no start. Maybe it would be a good idea to change the fuel filters if you haven't in a while. If they are close to being stopped up you can have a problem like that.

We're still waiting on A/C parts. The unit itself is in, but the conversion box is on back order from Dometic. I have to have that in order to adapt the new unit to our current thermostat. It would be the hottest week of the year for this to happen.

Still painting on the house. Got most of the baseboards installed yesterday (nail gun sure helps), and more painting today. The concrete staining and sealing is finished on the floors and it looks great. No more old carpet to worry about. At least the floors under the carpet were in pretty good shape. Now after all the grinding prep there is a fine layer of dust everywhere, but we are on the downhill slide now.

Jeri, we haven't been to an Escapade either as they were never in the right place or time for us. Tucson in March sounds like it could be doable, so we'll put it on the "chalk list".

Well got to get ready to paint so signing off for now. Steve

Now I have to watch the neighbor pull his bus out. He's been parked there for a year and I think it may be stuck to the ground. :o

Roger - I think the Baja tour doesn't get over until March 19. We are thinking of doing the Good Sam Rally in Phoenix when we get back.

I'm thinking they might have really gotten wise with this destination since many members are already in Arizona at that time. I bet this one will be packed. It's March 8 - 15. It's back to back with the Good Sam one.

When we get back from the Baja tour we are thinking of the doing the Good Sam Rally. Won't commit to it until they announce all of the entertainment.

Crikey Jeff! Thanks for that info...I thought it was just in the month of Feb. Got it on my calendar now! The Good Sam Rally in Phoenix is March 19-22. Starts the day we get done in California. Are we both confused?!!

Just a quick 300+ mile trip to the Rally. Get there on time for the evening entertainment. LOL. They haven't said who all the entertainment is yet. Depends on who they get if we attend.

We went to Escapade our first year on the road. We felt lost a lot. But we felt lost pretty much everywhere those first few months. The evening programs were better than most seminars so I recommend taking afternoon naps so you can be awake for the evening. My favorite seminar was a lady from the Chamber of Commerce who told us where to get the best eats.

We went to Nick Russell's rally the very first year and we were disappointed. So we haven't thought much about going to another. Our plans next winter are all up in the air right now.

Steve, we had the fuel filter changed when we were in Q in Jan. Had the oil changed on the way in but they didn't have the fuel filter so we did it when we first got to Q. Mentioned it today when we were in the freightliner place getting the radiator serviced. He just thought it was just a hic cup since we haven't had any problem since. Have to go back in tomorrow for a replacement part they had to order.

So far we are $680 lighter for the new batteries. The windshield should only be $100, that's our deducible.
