Glad you guys had a good time!! And travel safe. We will be rolling into New Orleans Wednesday.

Where are you stayin' Dave?

A local recommended eating at Cafe Maspero in the French. Ate there and very reasonable prices and very good food. Of course you're gonna find great food anywhere down there. Safe travels my friend!

Well, no pictures (of Lynn) but a good time was had by all. Took the shuttle back to Bourbon St and hung out with a group of new friends from the RV park at some juke joints listening and dancin' to great music! Everyone managed to make it back to the bus in one piece. "Been a long time since I Rock & Rolled...been a long time since I did the stroll". You Led Zep fans know what I'm talkin' about! :P

Now it's on to heading north and hittin' the Mississippi "Blues Trail" today.

Roger

We visited many of the Blues Trail Markers a few years back and had a lotta fun. Made it to the Crossroads and visited some still open "juke joints"along the way. Met a band in Natchez MS that told us they were gonna be on the Juke Joint stage at the Chicago Blues Festival later that summer. We were also going to be in Chicago so we made it to see them again and he remembered us too. We still have the marker map we used to search out the locations and venues we did visit. Maybe someday we will be back. Have fun.

travel safe and enjoy the ride

We have a all into Ponchatrain so if they call back I would imagine there. (Did you like it there?) If not we will call the one down by the French Quarter's.

Thanks for the tip on the eats.

That depends on who you ask. If you ask me I'm fabulous.

Good to hear it. I thought maybe all those visitors wore you down to a nub then someone erased you.

Dave and I went to the dog-catcher prevention place today. We are now shorn of nearly all fleece. May have to wear our stocking caps Friday morning as we head south to get my shower fixed in Austin, Texas. Minnesota is not yet having summer.

I think summer got here AGAIN it got up to 90 today for the first time that mark has been hit this year. I went to a nail place this morning to get my toe nail clipped, cleaned and massaged. It sure felt good but after taking off all the dead skin I can tell if a dime is heads or tails by stepping on it. I think I'll drive up to Rock Hound this evening and see if the lyrids meteor shower is going to produce any excitement. I really doubt it but the view is nice from up there anyway. We will have two meteor showers in May. One will get some competition from a waxing moon but the other is a new one and viewing should be good.

Well, today I spent my time in the "plumbing business". Had a leak in the fresh water part of the electric toilet. Hmmmm if you are standing in water and your electric toilet shorts out!!!!!!!! Ok, Ok I managed to fix the thing, it was an "O" ring in one of the connections that had dried out and now it seems to be ok. All it took was ordering a $50 valve and replacing a .50 cent washer. Dang! Oh well, just having the new valve on board will keep everything working! LOL! Only thing I have on my list now is replacing a heater element in the Splendide washer, which is not too hard a job. Just digging that thing out of the wall is the hard part. It's been a good unit as I only had to replace a water level sensor about 6 years ago. Nice day here in Oklahoma, 75 degrees and we had a little rain last night to settle the pollen down. Trees are leafing out nicely, and spring is in the air. Keep those cowgirls stirred up Lee, sounds like you're doing great!

Ok Dave in Nawlins, Port O Call joint for burgers, and you gotta have the beignets at café-du-munde! No calories in them because the sugar is "sprinkled" on!!

Steve you could save yourself a lot of money if instead of ordering all those parts, just get a manikin and let the legs stick out of those secluded nooks you squeeze into to sleep so Carol will think you're working. She's on to you anyway.

After all the problems with the IRS that H&R Block caused by not entering one of my mutual fund 1099's on my tax return for 2011, I got a letter from IRS yesterday that they are refunding $143. Of the money I sent in because of the error and penalties. Wonders never cease. I might be able to buy a cup of coffee with that.

Looks like another warm and windy one today. Maybe I'll do a little carving if my wrist don't complain too much. I finally got caught up on most of the paperwork except for balancing my check book. I found that the easiest way to balance that is to spend all the money in it.

I still don't have all the junk stored in my rig sorted and moved to the shop for storage but at least I'm thinking about it.

Thinking about it is the important part. Once the thinking is done the rest goes easily.

We had a good time yesterday meeting up with Terry and Jeri. Went to dinner at Golden Corral here in Bakersfield. Talked a lot about a lot of things. (Everyone) Then they snuck away this morning. Never heard a thing.

Well, we didn't quite get out as early as we had told you the night before but close. Lots of wind on the road today. We've more than had our share of the wind. It's someone else's turn. It was nice seeing you both again and meeting your daughter. Glad we were able to get out of there without making too much noise and waking you up! See you down the road.

I'm a little slow getting started today. It's a quarter to 11 and I just got my walk in and now I'm sitting in my shop resting up. I don't have anything pressing today so I guess that won't make any difference. I could be sorting out the junk in my rig but then I wouldn't have anything to think about and Linda S says that's important. I MAY do a little carving this afternoon or take a Steve.

The wind started to kick up again this afternoon. They are predicting 60 MPH gust for tomorrow with 30 to 40 MPH straight line winds. Maybe I'd better put some rocks in my pocket. Four of us went to Forgetaboutit pizza for dinner tonight. Nobody ordered pizza and. Everybody ordered something different. I had cod fish and it just hit the spot tonight. Last night I was sitting out behind my rig watching the international space station go over. It was real bright and as it got overhead I noticed a very dim satellite moving in the same orbit only about 3 degrees ahead of it. The Russians must have been up there in a space ship re supplying it and we're just pulling away. Very interesting. It was shining at magnitude -3.8 which is about as bright as Venus. Tonight was cloudy but I saw it a couple of times through the clouds. After 3 days of this wind we are supposed to get a stretch of sunny calm weather. I think I'll plan a trip up to city of rocks state park with my telescope.

That's pretty cool stuff. I think that other spacecraft was the one from the US that was launched the other day to resupply the station. The timing would have been about right. We're supposed to have bad weather tomorrow too. Good old Oklahoma spring. Now that we have the son's wedding finished, and our nephew's baby born (Wed night at 8;30), I can get to a couple more little projects on BessyBus. The dryer seems to have burnt up a heating element, so I have to dig that thing out of the wall and change it. I've taken it out once before for a water level sensor, so I know it can be done!! I also have a couple of clearance lights out, so I think now is the time to get them done too. No rest for the wicked. Steve

Steve, I know it's home and you do have family responsibilities. But, I sure wish you'd get to heck out of OKC until after tornado season. After all if one of those storms blows you out to lord knows where. Who in the heck would I have to pick on. I'd have to quit posting cause I wouldn't have anything to say.

I'm not going to say how bad the wind is here today. I think I just saw one of the cowgirl's rigs go by about 20 feet off the ground. I'm getting sea sick.

No one asked if we were okay because I hadn't posted for awhile. :( Yeah, we are fine. Exhausted but fine. The virus thing still hasn't worked its way out of me. Poor Doug is doing 1 1/2 times the work. I get so tired. We have been alone at the park until today. We still have no internet but today we bought a phone so we won't be completely out of touch.

We are thinking about y'all. Hugs.

Those of us who don't post regularly don't get missed. But, Lee posts everyday so, unless he tells us he is going someplace without internet, we worry when he vanishes for several days.

I am sorry to hear you are still sick. That one was a doozy! I sure hope you aren't passing back and forth between the two of you.

Lee, I think I saw that cowgirl's rig blow by here, no, wait a minute that's my truck. Hmmmm should have left it hooked up!! :o

So far the weather is holding off, but yeah, this time of year is nothing to fool with. I did get the dryer going anyway. It turned out to be clogged with lint on the inside. I had cleaned the lint out of the exhaust hose, but this was inside the unit itself. It was a pain to wrestle it out of the wall, but at least it just cost me a coat hanger and a couple of bruises to fix it. Now if I can get it back in the wall I'll be "good to go". It does tend to take up a little room in the bedroom .

Toni & Doug, get rid of that crud!! Go somewhere where it can't find you!! Hope you get better soon. Steve

Steve and Carol, Glyn and I are headed for OKC from Amarillo on Monday evening. We plan to sleep in the parking lot for the credit union downtown when we arrive as we have some papers to sign and of course the guy said he does not get in until 9:30. If I did not want a new house on wheels so bad we would skip this stop because of the crazy spring weather. We are in a time crunch to get to KC, MO so no time to check out that ice cream machine this trip. We will toot our horn and wave when we go through so listen good. We saw Paducah was getting some storms so we hope Freddy and Delcie won't blow away tonight and then that wind is headed your way. We are getting the dry, sandy, dusty stuff here and on Sunday even more wind. I had Glyn park the truck on the windy side to keep the rockin and rollin to a minimum. Hope everyone stays safe and if you are going to the Escapade in Goshen, IN look us up. Diane & Glyn

We are in the Big Bend area at Lajitas. We spent 3 nights at Rio Grande Village in the park then moved here Friday. One of the things we did at RGV was cross over into Mexico at Boquillas. The crossing has been open for a year.

Our Jeep doesn't like it here. Most know it quit on a trail Jan 2013 and we towed out. Well Friday afternoon after our move we were checking out the little towns near by. Heading back about 12 miles from the RV the alternator froze up. It took over 2 hours in 100 degree heat before a tow truck got to us. Can't get a new alternator until Tuesday in Alpine so we are going to "chill" here. Tina was sick yesterday anyway. There is a nice pool here too.

Very windy here also but it would be crazy hot if the wind didn't blow. Stay safe everyone.
