  1. Getting ready to call agent now. Policy says "in conjunction with", does that mean bobtail while camping away from home? Or while physically connected? One would think common sense prevails, but bobtail is bobtail, right?
  2. "TOLD"?? Get it ***in writing*** on an email or something. Agents have E&O insurance to cover their screwups.
  3. Tks, but LD pushes Progressive. Waiting to see if FCIS has another market for me.
  4. And rule #1 is NEVER LET THEM SEE IT................
  5. Well, I may not have a problem due to "VIN". If any of you remember my history here on the forum, my truck was a total & I rebuilt it. As such, to get a good title the State Police had to inspect it (for stolen parts, etc- NOT safety). Anyway, they stamped my frame with THEIR number, as is on my title. It's not 17 digits, and they probably will never track it back
  6. So Sculptor got caught & you haven't.......yet. Tks for the reply! I'm trying to see a problem coming and sidestep it. Sculptor, did anything trigger the witch hunt? Claim or whatever?
  7. Tks! We were with Progressive, but noticed that you were not covered for the truck unless SPECIFICALLY BEING USED AS/WITH AN RV. Use it to go to Home Depot near your home & you have NO coverage. Unless you went to buy fuel.................................... Care to PM me with your "correct person" at LD? APPRECIATED!
  8. We were with a subsidiary of Nwide, and I never noticed this. In several spots, their policy refers to a "Medium Duty Truck" as the tow vehicle. I consider my Volvo to be a class 7 since it is not a tandem, and I think common usage of "MDT" is class 4 to 7 Pls reply, not much time to search. What Ins carrier is anybody using if not Nwide?
  9. Start talking Chinese & they will all go quiet & hide.

    Semi fifth wheel

Based on personal experience, don't EVER let them see it. Small minds cannot grasp it being an RV.
  11. Here's a laugh- my 15 yr younger wife thinks "Jap job" refers to today's generation . (never forget!) Do you remember "cuts quicker than a Japanese toy" ? How about "made in USA", no periods between letters?
  12. A++ TST sensors. Their support is great, and you don't get held hostage to replace the little batteries.
  13. Mine stopped (Dometic reverse cycle). Could hear the compressor running/stopped/running but no cooling. Inside fan working. Wasp nest blocking the circ fan on the rooftop unit....................................
  14. I thought I replied to this, but I don't see it here. My pin weight is 44K, they sold me the letter "H" lookin' model as rated 5K. Did not work well. Investigated a little, the 4 Firestone air bags were rated 1K each. Called them, asked how they get 5K out of 4 x 1K bags? The rectalbreath I spoke with (supposedly someone knowledgeable). told me "the shocks on the side make up 200 lbs each. REALLY???!!! Obviously someone with a paper a**hole, thought he could slide one by "Mr Consumer". I sent it back for the 32K, which is a completely different design & has worked well except for the pivot which they corrected (and replaced at their expense, again).
  15. If it looks like the letter "H" I had problems w/ that, returned it & got the 32K
  16. That is not the one with the 4 air bags at the corners, right?
  17. Yeah, I have one. Now have the 32K, one pivot point up front & 2 bags. First one they sent several years ago had the Heim joint welded to the mounting plate. Broke rather soon. They replaced it with the newer model, Heim joint welded to the hitch plate. MORE better. Have had no problem since. If you use a teflon plate, I was told on purchase to use 1/8" only, you may want to ask
  18. If your route takes you thru Baltimore, note you will have to go east or west around the beltway if you have propane on board. No propane in tunnels.
  19. When you give up, there's always Colaw RV Parts

    Fuel Caps

Most truck tanks have a 3/8 square bung in the bottom or end. I have home-made locking caps, and am never far enough away for thieves to make much progress.
  21. Had a Detroit do that in the Navy. We shot it w/ a CO2 extinguisher & saved it.
  22. Safe deposit box was mentioned earlier. Note cash in a SDB is discouraged (not illegal) because it is not insured. I always ask for a box up high, banks flood too. Or fire dept can I guess.
  23. Uh, I'd sure like to see a couple pics of the "whore". Was she outside?
  24. Have said this before- if you do not need "certified" weights, show up at a moving/storage place with a box of donuts & you're probably good as gold. Most have exterior readouts, may be on even when they're closed.
