  1. Pay a professional. Even so, they're putting their health at risk. I was having my truck washed this past fall and the guy was on a 6' ladder. He was rather large and kinda got a little sideways as he was coming off the ladder. He was only on the second step from the ground when he hopped off the ladder and landed on his foot the wrong way. Snapped his ankle clean off. And when I say snapped, think gruesome, 90*, foot literally hanging by a couple pieces of flesh, compound fracture kind of snapped. Nah, I don't need to be up there.
  2. From an earlier post...
  3. I think that sofa/dinette set-up is the cat's pajamas, in any truck. Best of luck to you.
  4. As important as an ECM dump may be (I'm not familiar with Volvo), ask for a warranty/service report which might tell you that the truck has been a problem child. Also, spend a few bucks for a Rig Dig report...money well spent.
  5. The Paccar engine is a Frankenstein engine; unlike Cummins and Detroit, which are designed and manufactured in-house. All you have to do is to go to Truck Paper and search for just about any similar truck make and model. Trucks with Paccar engines are almost always discounted when compared to a Cummins, Detroit or Cat. Of course, there will always be exceptions to the rule. Obviously, there are folks out there buying the Paccars.
  6. We very much enjoy our Arctic Fox; it's our second one. With that said, our good friends in the Northwest dropped the ball on this one. There's an imbalance in the system where the cool air from the more than adequate 13.5K unit in the bedroom area doesn't mix too well with the other, larger living area. The 13.5K unit is stand alone, not ducted, so you're relying entirely on thermodynamics to move air. I suppose I could place a larger fan on the floor of the bedroom area and push cool air to the rear but that's not a "clean" solution.
  7. Folks, the A/C has always operated as advertised. I'm not interested in staying in an RV that has interior temps in the 78-80 degree range. I guess I'm spoiled, but I like my A/C.
  8. So that's a NO on the Newfie?
  9. What's wrong is too many people opening the door too many times! Want a couple of big dogs? Let me warn you, the Newfie leaves a trail of saliva that would make The Blob jealous.
  10. Thanks, GW, I'll look into that since I'm not familiar with the product. RPS...how did your tech determine the unit would benefit from additional refrigerant?
  11. LOL... It's not quite than many people all the time, but we have been known to party a bit.
  12. I've been looking for something larger than 15K, but haven't found it. We're in Texas and this is the first summer where we've camped in "excessive" heat and unfortunately, we were in direct sunlight. All of those factors, in addition to people and two large dogs make for a pretty hefty heat load. That's why I'm looking for options that would include auxiliary A/C.
  13. The Coleman's are a sealed unit and don't require a recharge. I suspect everyone's experience will be different based upon use and heat load, so...
  14. Our fifth wheel has Coleman Mach 15K BTU in the living room and kitchen in addition to 13.5K BTU unit in the bedroom area. The 15K unit isn't cutting the summer heat so I'm investigating any and all options in order to upgrade that unit. I'd love not having to make the current roof penetration any larger. Is this another pipe dream of mine?
  15. Oh I forgot...you have a few years on me. Good Luck With the Sale
  16. Ignore the lie-O-meter. The only way you'll get accurate fuel mileage is by actual fuel consumed. So unless you can accurately determine fuel levels in your tanks, you're only guessing at this point and at worst, getting anxious over a problem that may not even exist. Dip your tanks and determine if there's water and/or sediment. Replace your primary fuel filter. Depending upon what type of filter you have, you can cut open the old one and see what might be trapped in the pleats. If these don't suggest contaminated fuel, manually calculate fuel useage.

    First HDT

Well, you may not be thrilled with the color but it's a great match for your yard.
  18. I just went to Amazon where this unit can be purchased for $250. Sounds too good to be true. What am I missing?
  19. I'm in the market for one as well since we're going to start double towing. Will be watching this thread.
  20. Excellent news, Dave. I'll have to add AR to my library.
  21. Thanks for the kind words. She's a work in progress, but so far I'm extremely impressed. As far as retirement, onee persuasion at a time...one persuasion at a time.
