  1. I Got it figured out. Wrote a long paragraph about how to, and the forum lost it....
  2. Volvo Gen 1 How does the side window glass remove from the lift track? Spring clips? Rubber gasket? I need to remove my drivers' side glass to replace the lift assembly. So does anyone know it removes without breaking the glass?
  3. Life happens. Thankfully they gave notice. We have been with Dakota Post / Alternative Resources for 5 years now. It's been a great company to work with. We do 99% of our "Talks" online and have never had an issue. I'm more than willing to recommend them.
  4. Please say Hello to them for us. We missed them at the WCR........ Alie and Jim
  5. Made it to Ambassador RV Park in Caldwell Idaho for the WCR
  6. What measurements do you need? It's currently raining......
  7. -Check your battery and ground connections. -Any of the firewall pass-thru connections could be allowing moisture to enter. Do you know what area of the truck is getting wet when this occurs?
  8. Sitting in Chanute KS at Kansas RV center getting some warranty work done.
  9. We baked paint on many a boat.... But you have to have a heated booth to do it. The shops around Goshen may not have the capability too.
  10. Bad idea, If nothing else have it base coated and a minimum of 2 coats of clear coat. This will stop the UV ray break down of the paint.
  11. Full body paint will hold up better over time than GelCoat. I've had 2 5th wheels with gel coat and painted graphics and the graphics looked great, the rest was ugly. The gel can be buffed and waxed to look great. But it only lasts for a year at best. Paint on the other hand, looks good after a wash or heavy rainstorm. Another part to consider is many parks have a 10-year rule. If your RV looks old and unkept they have the right to refuse service. Most painted RV's cannot be looked at and be "Dated".
  12. When we left North Dakota on Nov 1, all the fuel at the pumps was either No1 or a "Treated" winter blend. Our bobtail mileage dropped a little, our towing mile dropped greatly. Glad to be in warmer territory!
  13. What we are seeing is that every truck was set up different.... rear gear, transmissions, power/torque, overall weight, length, design- condo/mid roof/low roof, the design of the 5'er rear- how much drag does it create? If we swapped around trucks, we would see a difference in mileage just on driver behavior/input. How hard do you smash the skinny pedal from a light? East coast flat highway- Florida style with concrete will have better mileage than midwest "flat" that you may be on a slight incline and not realize it. Another item of difference is the tires. Some are a highway long distance tire with very low rolling resistance, some are more regional made for hard turns and scrubbing, some may be better on dirt/gravel. Also the road surface... whats the tension of the surface? Hot asphalt in the summer gives a higher rolling resistance that perfect smooth concrete.
  14. Bob tail- 12-14 at 65mph depending on wind Towing- 9-11 at 65mph BUT our truck is OLD..... M-11 Cummins 10 Speed trans, 2:93 rear end, NO DEF, NO nox sensors, No Cat, No emissions.
  15. Left the slightly chilly Bismarck ND Wednesday afternoon, and we are currently sitting in Joplin MO for the night. Its 55 degrees warmer here than there! Moving on to Hot Springs in the AM.
  16. RV- that's what I'm doing now. Lugging around a 20lb cylinder with a 5' hose. But since we use very little propane and we carry 2 40lb bottles on the camper, I would like to utilize them. Leak testing is my career... http://www.subsurfacesolutions.com/product-page/flame-pack-gas-leak-detector the cheapest tool I get to use...
  17. We have a Weber Q1000 that I would like to hook up to our RV gas supply. This DRV already has a curbside quick connect fitting that is regulated from the tanks. If I connect a hose straight from the RV port to the grill, will the grill work? Weber has its own pressure regulator. So will double regulating the gas supply allow the grill to operate properly? Other option would be putting a Tee on one of the tanks and have a long 20ft+ hose as DRV puts the LP tanks on the off door side.
  18. Actually, that's Alies job on the passenger side, she pulls the string and then I do.... Someone brought up the Smith Driving series. Smith is now part of the Southern Cross training our techs are taught. There has been a reduction in reported accidents since this was instituted a year ago.
  19. But some of us don't have all that new fangled fancy gizmo stuff.... I still have to check the vacuum tubes to make the windshield wipers work.....
  20. North Dakota signed into law a new Distracted Driving law. If they see the head nodding up and down, vehicle drifting but staying within the lane, etc they can now stop you and ticket you. Yes, the provision to look at your phone for the last call, text or music download without a warrant was included. But if you don't comply, then a warrant will be produced.
  21. Nice to see your staying busy and out of trouble, I wonder what's next on Jacolyn's list for ya!
