  1. Only problem with nuclear is that we don't have a repository for spent fuel. And it is a political problem not a scientific problem.
  2. Boy, the limited thinking of people on this forum is astounding. Who said EVERYTHING would be accomplished in the next year, or next 5 years. LONG TERM thinking people. 20-50 years down the road. If you think things will be the same then you need to go back and read some history. People were saying the same things about the automobile in the late 1800s. Just a fad, no one will want them, etc.
  3. Actually, Dan, we have served when in the area, but because we are now over 75, we do not get called anymore. We are retirees from UT System, our daughter lives north of Fort Worth, she was born in Texas (we did two stints with different UT campuses), so yes, we do have ties to Texas. If you don’t like that, you can ...............
  4. You do realize that there are probably thousands of Escapees that return once every 12 yrs to renew Driver’s License. In some cases spend the night in El Paso, Amarillo, Texarkana, or other border town, renew, then hit the road again, right?
  5. Not rationalization, just stating a few facts. What costs does Polk County incur because of us? What costs does Texas incur because of full timers who are with Escapees?
  6. We are seldom Texas and even less likely to be in Polk County. I have served on a jury when we were in Livingston. In fact, we weren't planning on going to Livingston, but since I got the jury summons, it was easy to change are plans for a week and spend it in Livingston before heading toward Dallas to visit with out daughter. BUT Polk County KNOWS that most of the time Escapees will not be able to serve on juries, but the money we bring in helps the county. They get yearly bridge fee for vehicles that don't use the bridges, they get federal money based upon population even though we aren't costing them a thing. We help support a business in town, one that employs people who live in the area, shop in the area, spend money in the area. And when any of us come through, we spend even more money which helps their local economy. So we are BENEFITING Polk County, and also Texas. Our vehicle registration fees go to the state and we don't use their roads, etc.
  7. Most Pushers have a Cummins in them, very stable engines. Yes, there will occasionally be a problem, but most of the time the facility will be able to work on it during the day and push it out for you to use at night. Some even have it set up so you are plugged in to at least 30 amp power, and you might spend a day or too in the customer lounge. Our first car that we pulled we had for 14 years, got ~30 mpg gallon when running around, now our hybrid gets ~50mpg. Just routine maintenance on each. When we started, our final determination was made by the cats. We had 2 cars and knew it would be easier not moving them between vehicles. Plus we are always at a comfortable temperature when we arrive, and it just works for us. Love the big window and seeing everything ahead of me. I drive at least 50% of the time any more.
  8. Before we can recommend, how about giving us a starting point. Have you ever RV'ed before and in what type of unit did you RV? Are you weekenders are looking for something longer term. How many people and what animals will you have with you. All of these factors will be important in recommending where to start. If you haven't done any RVing, go rent a Class C for a week and go to a city/county/state park not far away for a week where you can see what daily life in an RV is like.
  9. Same for us. I think they've lifted the bed twice (hatch cover underneath, otherwise with a side radiator most work can be easily done, especially for firms with lifts.
  10. Also temperature of liquid, size of the container, amount of each ingredient affects rate of reaction. Kitchen Chemistry can be very complex.
  11. Actually a lot of good reading there. Pick and area and you will see what monies are being spent. Lots of salaries that were teetering (like airline employees) are going to be funded while they get back on their feet. Money for restaurants to help them recover. Unemployment payments extended. And a huge amount of that money will be put back into circulation as people spend it, which helps to get the economy moving. I downloaded the PDF so I can read on those nights when I can't sleep. Of course, I also would sit and read the CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) when flying to make sure I had the citations I needed for my presentations documented correctly.
  12. Moisture can get into just about any container - especially when you open it up to take some out. Can't be helped. Yes, some containers are better than others, but only if you don't open the lid.
  13. Try fresh box of baking soda/baking powder. Or increase the amount of the leavening agent. Either should work to help generate a little more CO2 to make the bread 'rise'.
  14. For a day or two, power cord and maybe water hose is it plus the satellite dish. And the satellite dish travels in back seat of the car, we gave up on roof satellite years ago, too many trees in PNW.😎
  15. Actually the first quarterly payment is due April 15th, so that’s what any rollover goes to. So maybe 6 weeks they get to use it interest free.
  16. Don't carry so much 'stuff' with you. We do most of the packing up the afternoon/evening before we leave. Empty and rinse tanks, put away the hose, maybe add a little to fresh water, covers off of tires, etc., store everything away outside, put everything in travel mode, pull in the big slide, etc. In the morning it is just secure the coffee maker, secure window shades, pull in bedroom slide, stow the satellite dish, unhook water and then power. Once power is off, I start the motor, hit the store button for the jacks, and do a walk around pulling jack pads and checking that nothing is left outside. By this time the airbags are full, jacks are up, and we can move the motorhome to where we hook up the car, check the lights and we are off.
  17. He could also get sick, pass the disease along and cause someone else to do. Just a little thing to mention. And when it comes to causing others death, I don't feel the less afraid to tell someone that's what they could be doing.
  18. No matter how small, do you want to risk dying when there is a vaccine that will block that. Dying from Covid-19 means your lungs and circulatory system fail and you literally drown in your own fluids. Yes, they pump you so full of opiates that you don't care, but that isn't the way I want to go. And if you become infected, you can infect others who might be unable to take a vaccination (like an infant) and thus be the cause of their deaths - are you ok with that?
  19. Exactly. We never get one because if we do make a small excess in estimated taxes each year, we just roll that rerun into next year's tax payments and recalculate our estimated taxes for the coming year.
  20. There are cases where people do have reactions, especially to egg based vaccines like the flu. That’s not the case now. But one unusual reaction is just that. To base your chances of not dying on that is ridiculous. And yes, if one works in the medical field unless there is a medical or religious reason, then following current medical protocols is essential for patient safety.
  21. The authors said that a p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant, Most of their findings had p-values between 0.01 and 0.03. Do you disagree with their findings of significance?
  22. All that we have learned during the past year about how to treat the disease has helped in lowering number of deaths. Trying to stay ahead of the inflammatory process is important, as is NOT putting people on ventilators for as long as possible.
  23. You have to have a certain level of sodium for your cells to function, also potassium, calcium, etc. excess of anything isn’t good. Why is that so hard to understand? You don’t understand basic statistics do you?
  24. Ken, I would be looking for another broker if they can’t get the information out by end of February.
