  1. The C2C system uses Classic (1 week at the park) Deluxe (2 weeks) and Premium (or something like that) which I think is 3 weeks but also requires more "points". You purchase points, 1000 pos = $10/night. For years that has been the case and their Good Neighbor Parks (GNP) were 1500 points ($15)/night. Now the GNP are whatever and they want it AT THE PARK, not through the reservation system. The nice thing about C2C was that you got a discount on parks, if you purchased $300 or more (30,000) at one time. When we first started, that was easy to do and the parks were all over the West Coast and Arizona, so they were our 'week out' park from our membership system. We used membership parks extensively for weekly stays and most places were 1-2 weeks at a time when we first started. After several years, we decided to plant ourselves in the Phoenix area (Mesa) for monthly stays, so only use membership parks in the summer months now - about 100 night or so from April to the first of October.
  2. Standard for membership parks/park systems. Remember, C2C isn't a membership in a specific park, it is an affiliated program where you can stay in other member parks for a reduced rate. Almost all membership parks have the 3day-2 night stay to entice people to come and try it out. C2C is undergoing a change in that most of their parks are becoming "Good Neighbor Parks" which is just about the same as PPA, in it is around 50% off, but you mark the reservations, etc. Not very many of the regular membership style left and we will probably not renew when ours runs out in a couple of years.
  3. Watch airlines require proof of vaccination before boarding their planes - it could be coming. Want to travel overseas or just to Canada, watch you will be required to show proof of vaccination, including batch numbers of the vaccine. Going to get a new job - don't be surprised if some firms require vaccination for new hires. Want to get into a venue, might be required to enter. Remember, we're talking about private firms, who can require all sorts of things. Don't want to show the airline your vaccination card, fine, they'll say, fly on some other airline!
  4. RV, there was an article today and the CDC is advising people NOT to laminate their cards as we may need boosters, which is why there is space on the cards for at least 2 other shots and that is where booster information (type, batch number, etc.) would be put.
  5. Water, one of the strongest molecules in the universe, responsible for life on planet earth, capable of crushing mountains all because of 2 hydrogen-oxygen bonds with an interior angle of 104.5 °
  6. 550K+ and conting have died. That isn't insignificant. Over 1/2 million people in this country are dead. And MOST didn't need to die if we had all done those things that would help to slow the spread while they worked on a vaccine. That you were lucky to have a mild case and recover is wonderful. Others aren't so lucky. I have a cousin who has long-haul symptoms, especially the 'brain fog' that still lingers at times. He's 70, recovered in about 10 days, but the long term lingering effects aren't fun. Everyone is different in how they handle the virus, what their viral load is and which variant they catch. We will have people who will spend the rest of their lives with problems as a result of their infection.
  7. Had my done 2 weeks ago, 2 weeks and 1 day after my second vaccine dose. Sounds like the salon here in the park. Everyone masked, slowly worked around the ears. Felt so great to get 1 year's worth of hair - GONE!
  8. Well, since Yankees were those who fought against the British to ensure freedom for this country, I would have thought that all persons who valued those freedoms would consider themselves "Yankees".
  9. The vaccine means you won't die and likely will not get sick, but if you do, your illness will be much easier. So far NO ONE has died who was vaccinated, about 10% will become ill, but they don't die and I don't think any have been intubated. In fact, most don't end up in the hospital, as their body has ammunition against the virus and they can help that along with convalescent plasma.
  10. No, he was already exposed before he had time to build up antibodies, but the vaccine helped ameliorate to disease effects.
  11. You can IF you’ve been exposed and are carrying the virus in nasal secreations. Doesn’t mean you will get sick, but you could pass it on, hence wear a mask when out and about because you might pass it to someone with no immunity.
  12. I watched her statement. Doo you realize there are now ppl under 40 being intubated because not only did they catch the virus because of their lack of precautions, but the variants they are catching are more aggressive resulting in more serious disease. what I can’t figure out is why everyone is ok with MORE deaths?
  13. No, another warning that it isn't all behind us, there will be more unneccary deaths because politicians caved to minorities and let up restrictions when just another 30 days would have made a great deal of difference!
  14. Young people are being intubated, we are likely to start seeing deaths of younger people because they are catching the new variants which may be more aggressive all because they couldn't wait 30 more days to get vaccinated.
  15. Every year we clean out take things to Goodwill or throw things in the trash that we haven’t used. Just remember once to get started, if something comes in, something goes out.
  16. Our daughter and son-in-law live in the DFW area, but we decided to use Escapees when we moved from Tyler, Tx to our fulltiming address because they were living in an apartment and moved every 2 years or so. I can't count the number of different places they have lived before they purchased their home, but it would have been a big hassle for us. Plus, they are working and have enough on their hands, without worrying about our mail, especially since we get all of our maintenance meds through Express Scripts. It just makes things so much easier to have all the mail go to them. Once you get your Escapees address, register your vehicles (you can do that by mail and the folks at the Polk County office are very helpful), then transfer your insurance to your new address. We also have Direct TV, so once that was set up, we have 3 pieces of residency information. Also move your cellular service billing address to the Escapees - another piece of data you can use.
  17. NO, we are not stuck in a motel waiting for repairs. Most facilities that handle Motorhomes have places on site where you can stay in your rig at night. During the day, we got see the area, do laundry at a local laundromat, etc.
  18. Because people are familiar with pickups and so feel that strange things like HDT and Motorhomes are 'different', therefore MUST be costly to maintain. Of course, when it comes to things like tires, etc., yes when we talk about costs, it will cost us more fore because we have Bigger Rigs - a larger house cost more to heat/cool/maintain than a smaller place.
  19. Vehicle only subject to inspection if it is in the state. Lots of people who are Escapees don't routinely go into the state, especially if they don't have family in it, so they can go several years without every going into Texas. And if they renew their driver's license in El Paso or Amarillo, they may only be there part of a day, stay across the state line and go one traveling thus never get rig inspected again. Lots of big companies have fleet vehicles that may never be in Texas, even though they are registered and titled there.
  20. Your comment had EVERYTHING to do with you impugning Kirk’s statement. I proved you were wrong, but that doesn’t seem to matter, you are on a tirade against Escapees for reasons that escape me. I would bet that most defense attorneys (especially in civil lawsuits) would rather not have Escapees on the jury, because we often come from other areas of the country, and will push for realistic monetary awards in a civil suit based upon areas we come from, and yes, I speak from personal experience of being on such a jury in Livingston.
  21. Well Kirk, Pam, Dave and I would make 4. I don’t know why. We spent fall every year in east Texas, getting health checkups, etc. would often come through Livingston for a week or two, get vehicles inspected, vote, then head for Tyler for 2-4 weeks for health checks (linger time was when cataract surgery done), then on to Dallas area for Holidays before heading west. What is bothering you about this?
  22. No he isn't. A lot of us have done that. Usually during the first few year when we are just starting out and doing circles every year that brings you through the area.
  23. The repository is already built - Yucca Mountain. Senator Harry Reed stopped it being able to take wastes. It was done out of fear, not real science concerns.
