Well, I got here. I'm in the America's Mailbox campground in Boxelder, SD. I was led to believe that the campground was completed but when I got here I found there is a paving crew working on it. They hope to get one row (the back row) tamped and ready for black top tonight and be able to blacktop it tomorrow. There are NH's 5er's and TT's parked everywhere. The front part of the campground is soft and a lot of the big DP's have sunk in and their jacks just shink in to the dirt instead of level the MH. I'm on a 90 degree corner of the driveway parked on blacktop boondocking. He said I could run a cord to an electric post but it is about 50 feet away. I don't think so. I hope to get into a paved spot by the weekend. Oh well, I'm used to boonedocking so that should not be a big problem but I'm not to happy about having to pay $20 a night for such a mess. Looking on the bright side I'm only about 70 yards from the Office so it will be easy to get things done. I hope.

DAVE: pray for a oold north wind it will blow that smoke out but put some rocks in your pocket because it wuuld blow you out with the smoke.

We had a couple of tornadoes touch down about 15 miles from us last night. Today is rain and windy. I sure do like reading good weather forecasts from all of you out there. But a lot of you aren't doing much better than we are. Sailbad - I sure hope you and Millie can breath. Poor Arizona is just going to burn up and seems to be trying to take New Mexico with her.

Julie - we were at Cedar Springs Campground in Flaming Gorge a couple of weeks ago and it was really nice and quiet.

Carol - I think north might be a good idea cause it sure seems to be hot and muggy down your way. Be careful of those storms though.

Jeri - you guys aren't going to know what to do with yourselves when you're finally done with doctors. Sure hope all goes well.

Be careful of those storms this year you guys! They're killers! We are praying for those poor people in Arizona....I hope they get it stopped, I want to spend some time in Santa Fe later this summer. it's just plain hot here. Didn't quite make 100 today but that's a first in days. No real relief in sight at least not this week. We're in Elko GA. and will be for another week or two. Then will work west and north. We've got births and weddings coming up in the family in August. All these storms and bad heat makes me not want to do anything! We are just hanging out getting maintenance things done. Generator is out and in the shop getting a repair and we will take Betsy to the RV Hospital on Monday morning for a face lift...new paint on front and back end caps.

As Always,

The smoke is back. Millie wants Doggles. Between the wind the last week and the smoke, her little brown eyes are a mess. We both are washing eyes often. The good news is I managed to haul 4 loads of water today. 3 for me and one for a neighbor. I did find out that you cannot stuff 600 gal of water in a 550 gal tank. But other than a little overflow, there are no leaks. I don't know much about the fire. I haven't seen the news today. I hope the winds calm down so they can use the aircraft.

They got one of the sites packed down and put a motorhome on it that was too heave for the soft dirt in the front sites then got anther site almost ready and notified me I could move into it just as soon as they got it compacted. Just my luck. They had it almost done when the compactor broke down and they couldn't get it started again. So they all picked up their tools and went home for the night. I'm still in the middle of the road boonedocking. Better luck tomorrow.

It's still raining. Roundup is still flooded and the roads are under water into and out of the town. Those poor people. And we don't have the snow melt yet adding to the problem. I'm beginning to feel like we should be in Washington with all the rain.

But, the weather forecast is for many gorgeous days here! Actually, the weather hasn't been bad and is even looking up.

I feel like we have a chain on us. I want to take off and go, go, go but we can't. All I can do is look at the map and wish. Tonight we start our graduation events with the scholarship awards. My camera is ready and batteries are charged. Tomorrow is the official graduation. We still aren't free to leave yet. Tuesday is another doctor's appointment for Terry in Portland, Sunday is Father's Day and the following week is another doctor's appointment. The grass is going to be so deep around our wheels we'll never get out.

We can only stay at this Elks lodge until Saturday. Even if the park is empty, you have to pull out after seven days. So, it'll be a short drive to another lodge for a few more nights.

I know the feeling Jeri. We've got a couple more weeks around here too. Our daughter and her fiancé are leaving for Australia on the 20th, so we'll be here till then.

I'm putting the tow base plate on the Dodge this weekend, then we have an appointment to get the brake (M&G) unit put on Monday. I need to change the water pump belt on the generator, and then we should be ready. We still have to sell the Trailblazer, which may take a little time. It goes to the detail shop on Friday. Now I'm tired  I have a friend of mine who can sell it for us, so that's not that big a deal.

If anyone wants to get rid of the "snow melt", they can just bring it around here and it will be gone tomorrow. Storm season is gone, and now there is no weather!! no clouds, no rain, hi 96 lo 71 for the foreseeable future. B)

Day # 2. It rained most of the night and most of this morning. This place is a mud bath. Needless to say the contractor didn't get anything done today. Now my trailer is out in the street with an electric cord stretched across part of the construction to an empty current bush. (Electric Box) They asked if I wanted to move into one of the sites that were vacated this morning. I did and couldn't even get out of my truck without sinking in mud. So I pullled back out and parked beside the RV Park next to the curb on the side street. The owner said he had contacted the police and they will ignor any rig parked there because the street ends half a block away and there isn't any buildings on it except Americas Mail Box. I got my new truck and Trailer insurance taken care of over the phone. It saved me about $150. They will send the policy to my new address. Americas Mailbox is getting my plates for me and said it probably wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. Next comes opening a bank account with Wells Fargo so that I can use any of the offices in the west to conduct business. Trying to get my new credit card here after the old one expired taught me a lesson. I'd better have a bank out here I can get money out of fast as well as one back east. Then I'll contact a Liar (Lawyer) to make sure I don't have to do anything to my Will or powers of attourney or Living Will because of the State Change. Chances are I'll die in some other state but this will be my address of record. Then last but not least I'll go to the DMV and get my Drivers license. So it looks like I'll be in this mud bath for about two weeks.

Sounds like someplace in that schedule, you better stop by Wally World and buy a blow up floatie seat and some oars! So sorry your first experience up there is like that. Hope things get better quick and you can get set up soon! Sounds like a big mess...they need to be paying you to stay there!

After a loooong day of travel today, my "Water View" is of the rain that just started. But WOW I got to move my peg on the map. :o Actual driving was just under 10 miles, but there was that really long 30 minute ferry ride in the middle of it. So then it was time to Chill with a glass or 3 of Cranberry Juice followed by Fish and Shrimp with Chips for dinner here at the Pt Townsend Elks. Tomorrow is gonna be BRUTAL, all the way to Pacific Beach.

Well, well, our first graduation event was last night. Tomorrow we had plans on moving to the coast. I changed those plans this morning when I found out daughter dear will be in Portland next week. So, out comes the chalk eraser again. Now we need to find another place to stay around here for yet another week! The Elks will kick us out tomorrow since they only allow folks to stay 7 days. I'm so ready to move. Couldn't she have come last week? We've been here so long we might as well just take the wheels off! :( whine ... whine .... anyone have cheese?

Mike & Deb, congratulations! Looking forward to meeting you guys on the road.

Jim, just caught a 2 1/2 and a 4 lb, they're not all gone out of here yet :P

Got the front bracket assembly installed on the Dakota today. Could have been an easy job, but one bolt decided to freeze up when I was taking it off. It would not budge in either direction. I sprayed it with all kinds of stuff, and couldn't heat it because it was in a rubber bushing, and cussed all the words I know. After about an hour and a half of messing with it, it finally gave up. Just minutes before I would have. (glad it didn't know that). Anyway, now the Dakota can be towed, and the braking system (M&G) will be put on Monday. Now I have two front bracket Assemblies to sell. One for a 2001 Dodge Caravan, and one for a Chev Trailblazer. I'm glad it's finally "miller time" Steve :D

Day 3, I finally got into a space this evening. I still have to walk a tight rope to get down the road side of my trailer to hookup utilities without sinking up to my neck in mud. (And I just did a through cleaning of the trailer last week.) I can get out the door side without swimming though. But it is still spitting rain. who knows maybe I do need that blow up cushion and oars. I've been in the black hills many time and this is the first time I've had to swim to get around.

I went to Wells Fargo and set up a bank account that I can use while in the western states. For that matter I could us it back east also because Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia and that used to be my bank about 5 years ago. Now I won't be a delinquent when one of my bank cards expires and I don't see it comming.

I've been busy most of the day so this evening I'm going to go on strike and just look out the window at the rain.

Got to Pacific Beach, WA yesterday just after noon. Managed to get a front row space and by pulling in front first, instead of backing in, can sit here looking out over the Pacific Ocean. So I gots a WATER VIEW once again. :o Once we set up, it was off to the casino for some grub and games. Managed to let them folks pay for my lunch, so that was good. Then after a glass of cranberry juice we walked over to the on site Restaurant for dinner. Good food and reasonably priced. Finished the day with a visit to the Hot Tub. This place is an old Navy Base and is now run by the Navy's Moral, Welfare, and Recreation Dept. Nice RV Park and much more.

Just can't figure out this weather anyplace...it's crazy! They haven't had rain here in Central GA for 2 months! Yesterday evening we had a 5 minute downpour...that's it...dried up....no more! Yes...Wells Fargo is a good bank to have, you can use it everywhere. You can check everything online too which I really like. Hope you have a much better weekend and things dry up a little!

Congrats on the retirement...have a great summer....remember every day is Saturday and if you're not careful you won't know what day of the month it is! The best plans are written in jello. The sleeping thing for me was harder, I still get up early because I like that part of the day, I just can't get out and about very early! Enjoy!!!!

Two days training done. Boy, I tell you. I sure could do things a lot more efficiently if they let me at it. But hey, I can do it.

Before we got here the park had been pretty empty but this weekend there are nearly 3 times as many as last weekend and the kidlets aren't out of school yet.

We had an incident too. Five drunk kids threw a can of beer at one of the other workers. She wasn't hurt but we had to fill out all the forms cause that's assault. Cops went looking for them but of course were too late.

Canucks won last night and if they can win on Monday night....that's it .... the Stanley Cup is ours!

Beautiful weather, warm and sunny.

No internet or cellphone where we are so I try to keep in touch here.

Love you all and miss you like crazy.

Sounds like you could be having a really exciting summer. Maybe they will let you make some changes as they get to know you better. We had beautiful sunshine today and now it's raining again. It sure is green around here. The lawns all look marvelous. We miss you, too. See you this fall sometime.
