JoeandMarcia
We will be leaving Lake Havasu tomorrow, we are going to see RAY and ELEN, at Lake Pleasant. I called them today, they are doing well, and I think he has gotten a few things straightened out with the VA and they plan on doing some traveling come spring. Hope you all are having a blast in Celina... Chasing the 70's You can follow us using My link I may not know what town I will be sleeping in, But I know I'll be sleeping in MY bed. Colorado Chappy
Bobbie, have Jim check a heating & A/C Place I think there is a aluminum type tape that they use. That was what I used when we had a stick and brick to replace some ducting for a hot water heater vent. And Joe's suggestion about aluminum tape for sheet metal work. Thanks to Dave and Joe's recommendation for type of tape to work - Jim found that type of tape at Ace Hardware and after two days it is still holding and working well. Now in our 26 degree cold mornings we can get heat to the bedroom area. Thanks Classmates for the good advice. JoeandMarcia
We are in Lake Pleasant parked next to Ray and Elen. They both look good, we spent a few minuets with them at their "gate". They get off "work" between 5 and 8 so we will see them then. They both say to tell everyone hi. JoeandMarcia
David and Kathy, we are not sure how long we will hang out in Tucson. We got the "etch a sketch" out last night and it looks like Tucson Wednesday (9-30), and then we ran out of board on the etch-a-sketch. I need to find a bigger etch-a-sketch, but them it would get erased on the first good bump in the road. Where do you stay while in Tucson? Look forward to meeting you guys. We were thinking about checking in there for a day or two to look over the park and make sure Fay is OK with it. Cause if "moma ant happy, nobody is happy". Greg, Fay says I can't play with you too much, cause between the two of us we are alwasy in trouble. John, we will be close, we will give you a shout. marty cassidy
I've been following this years' El Nino in the Pacific Ocean, also known as the Southern Oscilation. I'm not trying to predict this winter's weather, but thought that those in the class who come from areas not generally impacted by this phenomenon should be aware of it's potential. The oscillation in the ocean temperatures occurs about every 5-7 years; this winter's version is expected to be "moderate" as they go. The impact is noticeably dryer and warmer weather in the Pacific Northwest and cooler and wetter conditions in the SW desert, Texas coast, and Florida. What does this mean for us? Well, for those planning on parking in the desert this winter, pay attention to the nearby arroyos, washes, and ditches as they may flow much more than normal this winter. Low spots might flood, as well as those dips in the roads. Pay attention to discussions about this phenomena around mid-October into November: the climate scientists are getting very good at forecasting the impacts. And keep your eye on the weather to the west of where you are, not just today's local high and low temperatures. Pay attention to where you put your wheels.... 2007 Arctic Fox Fifth Wheel 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Green)

Melissa Beahm
Lora, That'd be great! At which park do you stay? Feel free to check our upcoming schedule on the web site to see what's available. Unfortunately, there's a lot! Jay, I've heard BOH is nice enough and relatively inexpensive. We don't use a lot of the amenities parks offer anyway. I have read on RV.net of people getting great deals at some parks -- even like at Fun and Sun -- $179 for first timers for one month. I didn't check out the details because we're all set with BOH. Melissa & Larry Beahm "One More Time" Music www.OMTmusic.com
keyhole51walleye
Good thinking and good advice Marty! We are going to see how El Nino affects the fishing on the Texas Coast! After the drought and the recent rains things should be better. Oh and if anyone is in our area(Rockport or Aransas Pass) give us an email and we will show you how to fish from shore!) http://mandrbrackin.blogspot.com
norahg
Marty good point. Having spent many years in California we are all too familiar with the flash flooding that comes with El Nino; it is something to be aware of in low lying and desert areas. Weather report said "31 degrees, but feels like 24 degrees" Cannot wait to get out of this region. Just a couple of hundred south into New Mexico will bring us tremendous difference in temperatures. My arthritis is screaming at me in this cold!!!! We don't have to help Rich and Terri close down their campground so we will be out of here Tuesday morning and stop in Santa Fe for a couple of days to see our daughters and grands. Today was Bill and Lesle's last day of workamping so we will meet up with them in Albuquerque and drive in together to the balloon fiesta. marty cassidy
Greg: I didn't mean to make you think, so let me simplify: El Nino is a socialist plot. Now you can go back to TV. Bobbie: You'll like it much better in Santa Fe. Myself, it's been warmish here in Aztec (Farmington), so I'm going up a few hundred feet tomorrow to Gallup.
