agesilaus
FL Park reservation system seems to be ...ah fouled up. We tried to reserve a spot at a local park, Pad length 30 feet site length 61 feet according to the website. the website showed openings. But we could not log in since the software insisted that our address was not in the official US list of addresses. A big surprise since we have been getting mail there for 30 years. Tried a neighbors address, same response. Called the reservation phone number, the women there was adamant those sites were tents only?! Drove out to the park and looked at those sites, they had RV's in them. The sites are dirt, no pads, and plenty long enough. And wide enough to park truck next to the RV which is 30 feet long. Gave up. Addendum Went back today and lied about our address and finally got registered and made reservations at Silver Springs. Hard to believe but their system, even when it works, makes res.gov look good.
Will B.
A lot of systems (res or otherwise), like to validate addresses against the USPS system. There are API calls (behind the scenes web talkin') that will send a provided address and get them to validate it. Lately, we've had issues with this. We're with Escapees, and while...just about anything sent there will get to us, those systems that validate the addresses absolutely require an address in this format: 225 Rainbow Dr PMB 12345. The "Drive" has to be "Dr" and you have to use PMB ("postal mailing box"?) in the address. If you're using any mail service at all, this might be the case. Hope that helps you or someone else in the future. TXiceman
Will, some systems will not accept that format. Some I have to put _"#12345". Other times, I have to put the #12345 on a send address line. Sometimes It will accept Apt 12345. You never can find a common format.
