bobsallyh
The Big Boy 4104 is on it's summer tour. If you are a railroad buff or just like seeing these types of thing, it is a throw back. We saw it in 2019 pass thru Yuma, AZ. We were on straight stretch just outside the city limits after spending the night in Yuma. When it got to us she was really rocking and rolling. This is the schedule for this season. https://www.up.com/heritage/steam/schedule/index.htm
Dapperdan
Thanks for sharing!! I saw that schedule earlier but it doesn’t hurt to get the word out! I haven’t seen the Big Boy in motion but we were to the train museum in Green Bay a number of years ago to see that one up close and personal. LOL AWESOME!!! We’re going to be in Cheyenne next September and I plan on viewing that one then. Dan

lappir
I was able to see it in Iowa a couple summers ago. Caught it on the move east of Cedar Rapids and then was able to only see if from afar when it stayed overnight just a few miles from the RV park I was staying. They picked a location to park overnight that wasn't accessible to the general public, but all the employees, friends of employees and many others seemed to have free rein of the area. The next stop in Des Moines had a public view that was more close up. Had to work so didn't make the trip the next day. It was quieter than I expected, except for the constant blowing of the horn. It was worth the ride out of town to see and fighting the traffic back to town after.
