trimster
So, I'm getting input & output NOx sensor engine warning error codes. SA 16 DTC P220f93 NOx sensor series 1 sensor 1 SA 16 DTC P22FE00 NOx sensor Row 1 sensor 2 I'm assuming the Sensor 1 is the input and Sensor 2 is output. 664k miles. Not sure if the previous owner changed them. Can these sensors be cleaned? Or do they just die? As well, buy aftermarket (mucho cheaper) or OEM (take out a loan)? DesertMiner
Best to change them. You may have a total of three NOX sensors.
trimster
DesertMiner... There only seems to be 2. OEM eqiv. $380-450 Aftermarket $175-240 Checked the soot level. It's well below the 'A' marker so the computer won't let me force a parked regen. I guess after I replace these, I have to visit the dealer to reset the engine fault? Darryl&Rita
The reset can be done by any service tech with the appropriate software on a laptop. trimster
Volvo dlr forced a code clearing & regen. Engine warning light is gone. Used aftermarket NOx sensors. Fingers crossed they will last. Marty Main
Bob, I have similar faults codes. How has the After-Market sensors performed?
trimster
Lasted about 18 months then failed. Volvo charges $250 core charge if you don't return factory original (if they do the work, which i had them do. On the road.) I'm not sure why they should cost $450 ea. Other than they can. The aftermarket ones were not dosing the DEF properly. My DEF useage has gone up after the factory sensors were installed.
