bruce1968
Just read an article from Truck Camper Magazine today about Florida being the 7th state to close campgrounds. Maybe more states to follow? The link is to today’s article and petition. Florida parks closing

Dutch_12078
If you have a Florida State Park reservation that starts tomorrow, you can still get there by 5 PM and stay for the duration of the reservation. "Existing overnight camping and cabin reservations that begin Wednesday, March 18, will be honored. Visitors must arrive prior to 5 p.m. on March 18, to secure their reservation." https://www.floridastateparks.org/learn/safety-updates Edited March 17, 2020 by Dutch_12078 Quote Dutch 2001 GBM Landau 34' Class A F-53 Chassis, Triton V10, TST TPMS 2011 Toyota RAV4 4WD/Remco pump ReadyBrute Elite tow bar/brake system
agesilaus
The really stupid thing is that they are closing for 60 days until May 15th. I think the whole idea of closing campgrounds, which are minimal contact, is moronic. But if they have to do it then why not 10 to 14 days at a time, extend as needed. They already canceled all meetings and social events in the cg so what does closing cg get them?
agesilaus
Quote CDC estimate of flu cases in this current flu season to date: 36 million cases of flu. 370,000 hospitalized. 22,000 deaths. Media reaction: Zero CDC estimate of H1N1 (Swine Flu) in 2009 and 2010: 8 million cases. 274,000 hospitalized. 12,469 deaths Media reaction: Zero to minimal. Also: It was “not Obama’s fault.” It should also be noted that: H1N1 was most destructive to young people. H1N1 is still around and viable, and its effects are global. CDC estimate of Wuhan virus as of Wednesday: 7,038 cases. < 300 hospitalized. 97 deaths (mostly elderly). Media reaction: 24×7 hysterics. Also: President Trump directly blamed while Chinese propaganda willfully spread by the media.

And figures released today show that just under 50% of those hospitalized with the virus are younger than 65...
