caseyj
This information may help those who don't understand the VA vs. Non-VA doctor' s prescriptions. If you get a prescription from a non-VA doctor the VA will not honor it unless you are in the 40 mile exclusion and even then your prescription may not be ok'd depending upon it's purpose. http://www.vetsfirst.org/vetsfirst-qa-will-va-fill-prescriptions-written-by-non-va-doctors/
NDBirdman
Welcome to the Forum! I bet they won't pay for the non-VA Dr's visit either, unless it's an emergency. There's times I'm glad I have Tri-care. 2022 Coachman Leprechaun, traveling around to dark sky areas and chasing the stars.
StraitRVing
I am glad I have both VA and Tricare. I have tried to get care in West Michigan a few times just to be told that the medical facility or doctor's office does not accept Tricare anymore. I was told it was because Tricare does not pay enough and that they do not require the veteran to pay more of a co-pay. Talk about a shock.
