Darryl&Rita
Why worry about GVW, GCVW, and all those other silly numbers? Little weight issue. I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again. 2000 Kenworth T 2000 w/N-14 and 10 speed Gen1 Autoshift, deck built by Star Fabrication 2006 smart fourtwo cdi cabriolet 2007 32.5' Fleetwood QuantumPlease e-mail us here. Big5er
LOL, thats priceless Darryl. I had a truck hauling a crane that was over by 60,000lbs once, but at least his truck/trailer was made to haul that kinda weight. He just didn't want to be bothered with getting a permit....or registration for that matter. When I stopped him the city motorcycle cop running the escort said "You're gonna stop my load"? I said "Did you notice the license plates on the truck expired 4 years ago"? He said "oh, I guess I missed that". I said "Driver! Do you have a permit for this load"? He said "uhhh". I looked back at the motor officer and said "Yeah, I'm gonna stop your load". 14 axles and 4 portable scales. It took me forever to weigh it....but what the heck, I get paid by the hour, not the truck. I'mdonewiththis forum
Phil, that reminds me of one "driver" I saw at a truck stop once. We were discussing the oversize load I had....... Him: You don't need to get permits for all the OD loads. I don't get them. Your chances of getting caught are pretty small. I just can't figure out why I get picked on so much at scales.........
HERO Maker
So somewhere today westbound along I 74 in Illinois, I'm following a couple of truckers with loads, and of course passing them going up hill, when I then spotted the reason they were hanging back! A very large oversized load with obviously an overweight situation. He had a trail car and also a lead car. The road is looking pretty clear ahead so I'm fixin to pass him when I hear the lead car say there was only a foot of shoulder crossing a bridge coming up!!! Well, I back off my speed and got behind the trail car even before the trail car moved over to block. Sheri counted 10 axles on combination of trailers behind the truck. And they were all duals!! Thankful I had the radio on. Rocky & Sheri Rhoades '01 Volvo 770 2016 DRV Mobile Suites, HoustonHERO Makers Ministry
