sandsys
The Minnesota State Fair is a really good one. It starts the end of this week and runs through Labor Day. trailertraveler
Don't overlook the smaller county and local fairs and festivals and Pow Wows. They can be a lot of fun. Oktoberfest season is just around the corner.

I have enjoyed this one also, and consider it one of the better ones. Like the Texas State Fair, it is also very large and fairly long with much to see and do. I loved living in the state of Wyoming, but if you plan to visit their fair, don't expect a lot as we found it disappointing, even when we lived there.
