jeffw Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 Sometimes when I plug our trailer in (to the jackalopee) with the truck off, I'll hear the ABS system go thru the self check (where you hear all of the relays/solenoids click). I've also noticed that if I leave the trailer plugged into the truck while it sits for a couple of weeks it'll drain the main battery in the trailer. Am I missing something to keep the trailer battery from back-feeding the truck? Thanks! 2007 Volvo 780 Volvo D12D, 465hp, 1650 ft/lbs tq., ultrashift

phoenix2013 Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 How do you feed the trailer battery from the truck? 1. Truck batteries going into +12 DIRECT 2. Truck batteries going into +12 SWITCHED Or something else?
GeorgiaHybrid Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 Jeff, It will depend on the truck but yes, we are talking about your 12+ from the truck into the Jackalopee. There are two places you can put 12+ to, the direct blade and the switched blade. 2023 Thor Magnitude XG32
jeffw Posted April 12, 2017 Author Report Posted April 12, 2017 I'll have to take a look. The previous owner didn't follow everyone's advice and put it in under the bunk, so I'll have to crawl under the truck and look. 2007 Volvo 780 Volvo D12D, 465hp, 1650 ft/lbs tq., ultrashift

If there is enough feed wire I'd move that to inside the drivers storage box. You will be VERY glad you did that, down the road.
