Dmworthi
I travel full time with my mother, who has started to slow down. I think it would be good for her to have a permanent home base. I've found Superstition Views near Phoenix, which has a Casita (700-800 Sq. Ft. home) with a car and RV port with hookups. Does anyone know of similar parks in other parts of the country? I love the concept but am not a huge fan of the desert. Thanks for your help

Second Chance
There are homes with RV ports in Rainbows End (the SKP park) in Livingston, TX. Don't know if any are for sale at this time. There are also non-SKP RV communities with port homes southeast of Dallas (may be the one mentioned above), southwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and in Alamogordo, NM. You might google using the term "RV port home." Dmworthi
When I tried googling, I didn't come up with much Just Mission, TX and the one in Phoenix. The Gardens in Tennessee sounds like a perfect location, but the houses are larger and more expensive than I was hoping to find. It looks like only 3 available 400 and 600 K range. More than my budget allows. I'd like somewhere with 4 seasons - Tennessee, North Carolina or somewhere with that kind of weather, but I really don't care if I find something that works. Thanks so much for all your help

RV_
Here are pics of all sorts of RV homes that are permanent homes with an enclosed RV space. I like the idea of a closable door so that no one can tell just by glancing if you are home or gone. I personally would prefer to buy a nice little piece of land like I have here, with no ties to or rules/HOA by a community of any sort. I have little to do with my neighbors and they me save for a pleasant chat now and again over the fence. I am not small town friendly and have no need for gossips, or folks to hear gossip from me. I bought just outside of the Metropolitan Planning Commission's jurisdiction so I can run a biz from my home, as well as build whatever I want subject to parish code inspectors. If we were still full-time we would consider something like these: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=rv+port+house&qpvt=RV+port+house&qpvt=RV+port+house&qpvt=RV+port+house&FORM=IGRE It costs about $7-10k to have a well put in for water here, and sewage is either a field line setup, or wastewater treatment plant for about $5k installed last time I checked. I have a macerator pump in a 500 gallon holding tank much like an RV black tank, and the macerator pump pumps the waste when it fills to float the switch to mu 40'X40" oxidation pond. If you get a little 1-3 acre place to build the RV/House on, it can be anywhere because once you have a house, the RV storage is not alone as most jurisdictions will not allow living in an RV with no house. I like minimalism and this next one has been around a long time online - The RV Chalet: http://www.rvdoctor.com/2004/11/rv-chalet-best-of-two-worlds.html See with my own land and house, I own it and have title. Like this five acres I have now, it was bought cash, so selling is straight forward and no one can come and try to be a politician about what I do on my own property. My new house is 300 feet from the road with a groomed and landscaped yard soon as we had to tear out the gardens and features when we put the new house up. If you want a subdivision feel then there are those as well. Only problem is that established communities can change according to a neighbor when they are 20 feet away from your walls in every direction. If you are passing through the Shreveport/Bossier City Louisiana area on I-20 or I-49 , shoot me an email and I can show you what we are doing for very little. Not an RV house but EZ to add.
