Capt Joe
Been on Windows 10 on my Toshiba 2 in 1 since purchase about 4 months ago. Been working very well for me with no big problems but I do have a couple of things that are bugging me. I will only address one in this message and will start a new thread for #2. I have been using the supplied e-mail that comes with the Microsoft and messages have been received just fine BUT whenever I receive an attachment, photos and such, it takes a very long time to download. I had one just the other day with 4 photos attached and it took nearly 20 MINUTES to download them. Same thing if I have a document attached. Question is what am I missing or have set wrong to cause this aggravating delay. I have my older laptop, a Lenovo i3 machine that downloads over the same ISP and it is very quick so I know it isn't the speed of my internet. I consistently get between 25 and 30 Mbps download speeds when tested. I would appreciate any and all thoughts, suggestions, directions, etc. to get this figured out. I feel it is one of those things that is staring me in the face and I will feel a bit foolish for not seeing it but as they are fond of saying nowadays "It is what it is?" Thanks, Capt Joe
wildmandmc
something isn't right, if using same isp should be actually faster with the win 10 pc. as a pc geek i would start looking at any infections, one question, has this been the norm since you got the win 10 or just started it. lasttruck
Cortana, several of the apps and automatic interaction with MS uses up quite a bit of RAM and processor at times. I disabled all unnecessary items and speed is back up to acceptable, if not close to prior to W10. Worked on a netbook and a 2in1.
wildmandmc
yup thats what i do on all my customers pc's. set the cookie to 8mb, disable 3rd party, history to 1 day, check add-on's. . nothing is simple anymore. i wonder how ppl that are just coming to get there 1st pc are doing. not so easy as back when xp first came out.
