I know some of you out there know San Antonio, especially Ed and Lynn. We are going to be there on Wednesday the 11th and want to stay 2 nights. Who knows of a cheap place, bare bones is okay. We want to see the Alamo etc and leave the following day. Help? And yes, Ed and Lynn, we would love to see you if you can have time off on the 12th.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Thanks Soos, we are booked into Braunig Lake. Came down to the price $23.50 Passport America.

We've been busy for the last couple of days. Steve & Sandy Allgire (class of 07) were also camping in Oak Harbor, and their home Elks club there was where we were parked. We had a knock on the door and it was Steve & Sandy :o . They were out for dinner at the Elks and saw my facebook post that were staying there. They came to the bus after dinner and we had a nice visit. They told us all about their adventures on their Alaska trip. Nice to see them again. Then we had a nice dinner with Joe & Sharon (she's way to good for you Joe), and spent a couple of hours catching up with them. After that we went to the movie Specter, and that was a great flic in the James (shaken not stirred) tradition. Yesterday we watched the Packer game  , loaded BessyBus on the ferry and moved from Oak Harbor to Port Townsend. The GPS kept telling me to make a U turn as soon as possible, but after I tried to explain ferry to her a number of times, she finally relented and let us go across the water. <_< We were loaded first, so we got the best seat in the house for the trip. The ferry workers were really nice, and got us on and off with no problems. We came to the SKP park at Chimacum, but no one was in the office and we just had to park where we could. After we parked, we found out the water was not on in our section  , and today, when the office was open, we found out we had to move. Now we are finally settled in and hooked up. First full hook ups for awhile, so it feels good to have sewer again. :D. Life's little pleasures!! All that made me tired, so I guess a Steve is in orderZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Isn't it amazing how RVing helps us understand how wonderful basic utilities are? I keep remembering when I was a child and my cousins had a hand pump at the kitchen sink and a little house out back. How spoiled we have become!

OUCH, but I know what you mean. Just keep it quiet please, wouldn't want her to find that out.

Growing up as a kid we had a hand pump in the kitchen and an outhouse. During the winter (in Iowa) out nigh time toilet was a 5 gallon bucket on the porch. I remember when we got a hydrant put in our kitchen and we thought we were up town. Now we live in a RV with 2bathrooms LOL!!! I don't complain much when I sit and think back when.

Just read this tonight. We have a gate right now so won't be able to meet up with you. Too bad. Have a good time in San Antonio. We enjoy the River walk and the Missions.

The guy who bought my telescope asked me to come for dinner tonight. It was very good. Maybe I should forget about the cowgirls and start chasing cowboys. LOL. We talked about astronomy most of the evening then the subject drifted to our younger years and some of the foolish things we did. When I saw the response to Steve's comment about the luxury of full hookups it brought back memories of my childhood home. But I'm not going to discuse that cave here. It might give away my age. My parents built our house from shipping crates my step dad brought home from the Chevrolet factory and we lived in an old army squad tent for two years while it was being built. That was in Michigan where we got deep snow in the winter. When the snow got about 4 foot deep the tent was warmer because the heat from the wood stove didn't escape through the side walls and the wind didn't get in. We considered that we were lucky because my step dad had a job in Chevy while most other people in the neighborhood didn't have a job. He didn't earn much but we could by nails to build the house and sugar and floor for canning and baking. We sold and traded fire wood and veggies we grew for the rest of the stuff we needed. When I think of those times even boondocking at the slabs sounds like a taste of heaven.

Sandy , you mean to tell me Jim has been home from the surgery all afternoon and hasn't gone fishing yet. What did you do to the poor guy, put super glue in his chair? Jim, just think of how much bigger those fish grew while you were tied down. Get back with it soon. We are all glad the surgery was a success.

About all I did today was get the Navion fueled and it's LP tank filled. It's been too windy to do much of anything outside. I'm still wanting to go check out the NM boot heal. But it looks like I won't get everything wound up around here until next week. I have some packages coming that should have been here Monday but I just got another email saying they were shipped today. I got an email Thursday saying they would be here Monday??? Oh well, they didn't say which Monday.

I loved using Passport America to get into some pretty luxurious campgrounds at bargain prices. Glad you found a good one.

We are so glad the Class-less class took us in. The 2012 class which we are (or should be) part of is so NON-active that it has been locked I assume due to being dead LOL!!!

Now that was said with a lot of class, Steve! :D:D

What, Steve has class? Does that mean we have to kick him out. Who am I going to have to pick on?

Jeri, you can ship some of that warmth over here. It's going down to 27 tonight. I'd better bring the brass monkey in for the night. I was going to go over to the NM boot heal this week but too many things got in the way. I'll try again next week.

I went to the Petro Truck stop this evening for dinner. When I went to the cashier to pay, she said "this one is on us and handed my money back. We should have a few more Veteran's days. At happy hour all the cowgirls gave hugs to all the vets. I think I'll re-up for another Hitch.

Now it's my turn. Thank you for serving vets. And thank you non-vets for supporting us.

Yeah, they gave us free entry into state parks here in Florida and then we got free craft beer at World of Beer in Naples... I too think we should celebrate Vets day more often...

I think that I'm responsible for it's demise Dave. Back in January 2013 I put put feelers on their forum about getting together at Q. We only heard from 2012'ers Dianne & Tom. It seemed that the posts quit soon after that. Thank goodness the soon to be "Classless" took us in!

Also, I'd like to give a belated thank you to all of the vets in our group and everywhere.
