Wanderin
Hoping that we hear some good news about Jim & Sandie soon. Lee, that is a heck of a story. It really puts things in perspective for the next time when Lynn and I run into a "sticky wicket"! Maybe Sandie will comment online soon. I sent her a text last night. They were safe, off the road and in a rest area. Quote Just Wanderin' On a permanent vacation! http://blog.willywagon.net

Wanderin
Just an FYI - Dave created the map for folks on the forum and not for folks who just wanted to be on the map. With that in mind we're going to do some map cleanup in the next few days for folks who haven't been active on the forum (Classless or 2008-2009). Hope to hear about everyone's travels. Travel safe! We waved as we passed. Arrived here at Seven Points COE park. Wow, is all I can say. 3 days is not going to be enough. This park closes at the end of the month and we may have to stay until then. Sandie & Jim
So glad Carol is okay. I know all about those gall stone attacks. More painful than anything else ever. Like Toni - I had mine removed in my early 20's. We are in Apache Junction. We ended up sitting on the side of the freeway for 8 1/2 hours. The service guy came from who knows where but a zillion miles away and then he didn't have all the parts we needed so he had to go get them. Good grief. By that time it was almost time for the sun to go down and we were a little frazzled. We pulled into Sunset Point Rest Area for the night. So many trucks and they are noisy. I can handle road noise but not this truck parked next to us. Thank goodness Jim can sleep through anything. Came on home this morning with duct tape holding the cap on the wheel. Exhausted but safe. Compared to Lee's "adventure" this was nothing. Just frustrating. Sandie & Jim
Meant to tell you - Denise is here in AJ also. She has been really sick (like she was in Q a couple of years ago) with a cold but we saw her at Walmart today. She is still far from well but is improving. We'll be doing a lot of checking on her as she's going to be here for a few more weeks. Jan - keep posting. Glad you're getting back on here. sandsys
Remember me? I haven't been on here in years, but Freddy is helping me. I remember you. I remember Bill and I sitting there smiling as if we had a clue what any of you were saying. Group gatherings and hearing aids are not a good combination. But it's fun watching the rest of you share stories anyway. I miss that. sandsys
Glad to hear everyone is at least able to deal with all the mishaps. I'd be eating a lot of Cheetos since those are my go to food when frustrated. I'm pleased to report I haven't had to resort to them for a long time now. Glad Sandie is there to keep an eye on Denise; we know how stubborn she can be about accepting help but I think we taught her last time that we'll be there anyway. You all take care of yourselves and each other the best you can, hear? They are no more dangerous than that laser pointer you carry around to point out consolations in the sky. In the wrong hands they are both bad things but in the right hands they are a lot of fun and great tools. Or maybe every time we see a laser pointer we should go back to the good old western days and shoot them out of the hands of the user LOL!!!! I’m just funning but I happen to be a drone (toy) owner that hates the fact that a few ruin it for the many. I’m just funning but I happen to be a drone (toy) owner that hates the fact that a few ruin it for the many. Dave I was just being a SA with Linda. I've been toying with getting a drone myself. My big problem is finding a place to carry it in my 25 ft. Navion. And yes astronomy junkies are just as sensitive about those that miss use lazer lights. And there are plenty of idiots that do miss use them. We consider them a tool not a toy. The Lavins work at Amazon part of the year. The blunt of my joking was about Amazon not drones. Having said that I have serious guestions about them using drones to deliver packages and personally don't think it will ever become reality. I can see a commercial use of them by companies like Google for taking street level images for their maps etc or even surveillance use by police departments. I can also see Amazon using them in there warehouses to automate packaging and shipping. But delivering a package... that's when the skeet shooting practice comes in and there are plenty of idiots out there that will do just that if drones are flying around their neighborhoods on a daily basis dilivering packages. Long range freight delivery fine at medium altitude but rooftop flight in congested areas, no way. Think of the size of drone it would take to deliver a 50 lb package. I think we all "hover" a lot but I'd sure like a top notch drone. However, having to register them with the FAA doesn't sound appealing. steved44
Hey, Jeri, what happened with the map? I have firefox and for many months I couldn't see the pins on the map! I had to go to chrome to be able to see them. Now all of a sudden I can see them on firefox again. That's great, but I didn't change anything on this end. Maybe all those drones disturbed the space time continuum. IYQ
Mine has worked with both Fire Fox and Crome for the past 4 or 5 months. However I use either my ipad or Galaxy tablet to post instead of my computer. Mostly the Galaxy Tablet. My phone acts up a little on the map site with either browser. Mostly because the map covers the whole screen and I can't scroll the page because only the map will scroll. steved44
One of life's great mysteries I guess. Mine quit working with firefox (after it had worked on it since we started this), so I loaded chrome on my pc a few months ago to fix it. I have been trying with firefox every few days but it has never worked until today. IYQ
I flew the coop today and went up to City of Rocks to escape the Rally. There are too many high thin clouds to set up the telescope so I'll just enjoy the scenery. I stopped at Jimmy's RV repair and my new sewer hose storage tube was there but he had so many RVs in the yard I felt sorry for him and told him I'd drive back down there tomorrow. It's a little cooler up here and I'm dry camping. I don't have solar on this rig yet but I have a heavy sleeping bag. Trips to the pot will be in record time tonight.
