We are planning on being there, not sure what day. Also planning on going to Yuma, if the group goes that way. We also have another couple coming with us. Their names are Pam and Lacy. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone. We are gate guarding right now and have a few things to get fixed on the rv before we head that way.

We will be at Yuma and are sure hoping some from the Quartzsite reunion will be too.

Has anyone ever stayed at Imperial Dam? We've driven around it a couple times and never wanted to stay there because it was a long ways from anyplace and could not get cell or internet. However, it has lots of water and we wondered if boats or kayaks could be put in that water. Anyone know?

Jeri, they have a marina there at the campground. We didn't stay there, but drove up there one day from Yuma and put our boat in. We were able to run out into the Colorado river from there. We didn't try the internet, but it is quite a ways from town. We'll be at Q somewhere around the second week of Jan. Now it looks like we will be spending Christmas at carol's brothers home in Oakland, so we'll be writing our jello trail from there. 40 degrees and windy in Vegas today. Steve

We stayed at Imperial Dam once. Too far off the beaten track for us. But we don't have a boat. Have you tried Lake Mittry? Maybe if you come in off US 95 on Imperial Dam Road it won't feel so far away? RVSue was just there so we know there is free boondocking.

We now have water!!!! Went to Bartlesville and they were able to take the broken accumulator pump out and bypass where it goes because they didn't have one in stock. They have ordered it and we will go back next Monday to have them install it. Cost us $31.00 today....$24.00 was labor. Took about an hour. Can you believe that? They are very good and very nice. Made it back and then went to do laundry, Walmart and now we are home and it is now snowing again. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 34. Can you say heat wave!!!

Reporting in about Lee...

We drove to Slab City today, and had a great visit with Lee... he is much improved! We know those ribs are still sore... wouldn't want to make him laugh to hard, but glad he if feeling better!

Lee gave us a tour of the Slabs... the LOW's slab there is a nice, comfortable group of buildings, convenient to RVers parked around it. Of course, we saw some "interesting" other slabs and homes, but the area where Lee lives seems a nice community. Thanks, again, Lee! We hope to soon hear that you have slept in your bed instead of that lawn chair :)

No more accidents, ANYONE! See you all next month!

(my quote function isn't working)

Was great meeting you and Paul too and you've been more help than you know for us making the transition to FT. It's really opened up a lot of resources and options for us. Hope to see you again soon!

PS: FL may have more bugs and be more $$$, but it's WARM! LOL!

Hey Charley mine won't quote either.

Left Naples, Fl. today drove through the Everglades. Saw gators at the Oasis visitor center. Got to Bahia Honda by 4 and had dinner at Fogarty's in Key West.

75 degrees at 11 pm.

Tina is being eaten alive by the bugs. Saw a lizard today on the bike path by the highway the size of my standard Dachshund. Not real crazy about the critters around here.

I really enjoyed the visit with Tom and Dianne today. After a quick tour of the junk yard err Slab City we went to Brawley for a quick lunch at Brownies and a chance to sit and really spread some gossip about all the rest of you guys. I led them over to Wal-Mart so they could stock up before returning to Borego Springs. I came back to the slabs, strapped on my spurs and cinched down the saddle nice and tight and rode my lawn chair to la la land for a quick Steve. Now that it's time to really go to bed I'm sitting here at the table wondering why I'm not sleepy.

The Keys are nice but I don't think I'd want to stay there regular. Good kayaking though.

Gotta watch the wildlife. One person's "invasive species" is another person's free range "pet". Check with the locals before you eat one. LOL!

Sure am glad to hear the update on Lee. Never sure we can believe what he's telling us - especially when he's drinking that cranberry juice. LOL Just glad to read that he's not in quite so much pain.

Hey, Lee, we watched a bucking chair contest in the casino tonight. The sign outside said mechanical bull, but you how those lying cowboys are. The winner got $500, so I was thinking of entering you in the next one seeing you have all the experience. Big Bucks in Vegas!!

Steve you're going to have to catch me first. The Ribs are still tender from the last tangle with a chair and tonight I was feeling good so I went to town for dinner while eating my nose started to bleed and wouldn't stop. I went to the Emergency room. After 6 hours they released me. I started out and discovered I didn't have my glasses. I went back in and they couldn't find them. And you think I'm going to try my luck at that chair. BULL.

Now that's what being a SKP is all about. I told Tom and Dianne to be on the lookout for our friends Bob and Karen from Chase, BC at Borrego Springs. Told Bob and Karen to look out for them too. And they did and they found each other. Friends making friends with friends. Wow.

I'll swear if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. Every day it's something else. This evening I ran low on water so I put my water cans in the truck and drove to Calipatria filled the cans with R O water and headed home. When I got home I was going to pump the water into my trailer tank. Guess what all 5 tanks were gone. I've hauled water like that a million times and never lost a can. I retraced my router and found nothing. Not even a wet spot on the road. Tomorrow I'll have to go to Wally World and buy 5 new tanks and try again. I wonder what disaster will present itself while doing that. I never did find the glasses. I did find another pair that are almost the same in my truck. It's a pair I had made as a spare. But didn't like them so they were never used. Does anyone have a straight jacket. I think I need one to protect myself.

Oh dear, Lee... STOP with the bad stuff!!!! Enough, already! Do you think that maybe you didn't lose the jugs, but rather someone helped themselves to some Christmas shopping? Certainly hope your luck turns NOW.

Yes, Toni... it is pretty amazing! First, Denise and a couple of her friends came driving up this afternoon... looked around the area for our rig and car, and found us. Then, your friend Karen came with Shoko. Later, we took a drive to visit each camp. We can see Denise's rig about 1/2 mile across the desert from our home. Her friends, Jean and Skip are parked near her. Then we went to visit Karen and Bob... so nice. They are just over the hill from us at Pegleg. And the gathering grew... Shoko and Bob, Macy and Dave, Penny and Paul (hope I got all the names right???) All SKPs, and all Canadians! Hey, what's the deal... didn't meet a single American today :) We will be getting together soon with the Pegleg group, and invite Denise, Jean and Skip. So happy to meet all our new Canadian friends. And, we learned a new expression today... SHACK-WACKEY. Way cool :)

No I set them on the open tailgate and didn't stop anywhere on the 10 mile trip back home. I had to hit the gas once a little harder than usual when a car came up on me going about 60 in a 40 MPH zone. That's probably where it happened.

Well, at least you found some glasses, now you can count the tanks... Hmmmmmmm Sorry you're having all that trouble Lee, I wish we were closer so we could help. Now, I don't know what we could do other than help you count tanks, of course I can't see all that well either so we would have to count on Carol to see what was going on. I'm tired already!! Have to go take a Steve ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

As long as I have 5 or less tanks you can help me count them but in NO way am I going to chance you having to take a shoe off to count any higher.
