  1. We could meet at the line. Do we shoot east or west on the line. Would we get in trouble for it. I guess it depends on which side of the line the bullet falls. This sure beats thinking of the covid thing, Vern
  2. Search utube for Wasserburger BPCR Mile shoot 2013 I cannot copy and paste it for reasons unknown to me. I am not a computer person.
  3. I am late for this. But this may help. https://www.generator-parts.com/manuals/generac-rv/0D8351.pdf If this is not the correct model. End me a private message and I will email all the General documents I have. Vern
  4. This is interesting shooting. Many places around the country.do have long distance ranges. I could not copy and paste. Search for Montana BPCR Very interesting history lesson. Vern
  5. As for tv sound. Customer stated he was not at his rv. He has a electric meter and I was going to have him test things while I was on the phone. So I started to listen to the background noise. I have learned to do that for mechanical sounds on equipment. Just now using for community covid noise. Vern
  6. Today I called the local National Forest office with where to shoot. Got a email from them but will read that tonight. Busy doing other stuff today. I did setup a portable table and support system for the rifle. Also gathering stuff to take along such as soapy water, clean water bullet lube and assorted stuff for shooting a black powder rifle. I may get out this week if all my other playtime adventures get finished. Now Darryl you may want to find a day or two on your way south to stop. That is if I am not too embarrassed about my shooting. If you do not see me post on this subject again, that is a signal that things didn’t work out very good. Vern
  7. Back my title for this subject. I just had a service call for rv repair. I explained to him that I am not doing normal rv repair at this time. Only Aquahot systems.. But I would help over the phone. So while we are talking about his situation I ask him if he is at his rv. He said no. So I listened to the background noise. It sure sounded like he was sitting in a restaurant. He never mentioned about covid19. At all. Sure makes me not want to visit campgrounds. I do not know if I should be pissed off about there attitude. Why is it that they do not get this problem. Or the serious situation our country is in. My niece is a icu nurse in the Tampa Fl area. Working with Covid patients. So I keep up with her life situation through my brother once a week or so. ???? Vern
  8. GITS are grease in training. Twice now I have seen small flocks flying around and you can see they keep changing positions like they are learning how to travel together. At the same time they can learn to land in cut wheat or other grain fields for feeding. Last year we had about 20 swans in training for some time. As they started more and more fights then one day they headed directly south and gained altitude and they were gone. We do have 4 young swans on a pond down the road from us this year. Later in the year some geese will be flying higher and headed south, then the locals will join them. But are just going wave them as we are not headed south this year. Safe Travels, Vern
  9. So this is the rifle assembled. The white line in the far background is about 1000 yards away. Yep I agree that shooting that far seams really just about impossible. But there are a few people in the world that can shoot that far with a muzzleloader. i must be full of ——————-? Vern
  10. So this week I have seen two flocks GITS flying overhead. So it must be time to think if it is getting time to travel south for the winter. The wheat is starting to be harvested also so that means the GITS will have feed for there migration south also. We are note going south this winter. Vern
  11. Other side of stock Notice imperfections on side. But original condition. i need to fix my bad picture problem. Now I cannot get old pictures to be recognized on the photo posting site. I really need help on that stupid move, Vern
  12. I guess I did really do something wrong on posting pictures
  13. Well I did something bad this am. I clicked on the photo posting process that Jack put on the HDT section. Pushed something wrong and now it will not recognize my photos. But I can take a picture. This stock is not the one I built. A friend of mine that has some old guns but not really into them gave me this stock. Back about 1970 he had purchased an original target rifle that was flintlock built in Allentown Pa. it should be dated about 1820 or so. he did not like the way the stock looked so he had someone restock the rifle into its original shape. It was a long rifle. This stock was cut off to be a half stock. I guess to modernize back then? I should be able to find the makers name as he did say who built it. Also back in the 1800s guns could be dated and location obtained by there shape as different gun makers tended to have there own style of gun stock carvings. I do have a barrel that would fit this stock. Some thinking to do for the winter hibernation in Montana. Vern
  14. Smart asssss. Sorry I did not count that. How do you like my work bench.. be nice Vern
  15. It is now assembly time. I have all but the trigger guard made. So this has been a reeeeal long process. But interesting to make the small parts by hand with only hand tool and working on the back of my truck. I did buy the barrel and the lock. I started building my own lock But wanted to shoot this rifle. I will finish my own lock later in the year. I did cheat with a Dremel tool and a 4” grinder. Also a battery operated drill. Back 4o years ago I did hand forge a pistol barrel. In my well drill business 20 years ago I did hand forge 6” and 8” drilling bits. Since my working days have al but disappeared now I can do stuff I have thought about for many years. Now testing different bullets of shape and weight I think will be fun. Also possible trying paper patched bullets. Never used those before. I am now searching for long range shooting areas on google maps. On the west side of Glacier N P. So there are some possibilities there. I want to call the Fish Wildlife and Parks department to see if I could shoot across a river so I could gain distance. Will keep updating, Vern
  16. I have stopped my rv repair business about 95 percent. I still have my number for people to call. With all the calls this summer for work,,,,,, I have not had one customer mention precautions about this Covid thing. About being safe for me or them?????? What is it that some people cannot grasp. Yesterday I was in a exclusive rv resort. What the h. El do these people think. They are walking around stopping to see where I have been this summer. Walking into other private lots and acting like it is 2019 all over again. I did not see one mask. I have much more in life to do than try and hurt someone. i am free from customers, Vern
  17. I have been doing mobile rv repair since 2008. I have enjoyed working on rv’s and meeting many people from different walks of life. Several customers have become friends over the years I have worked on pop ups to new buss conversions. We have traveled the country and working in many states. Then covid entered our world. At first we did not understand what was going to happen. I was working in Arizona for the winter. One day in early March I realizes how many people I shook hands with over the last few weeks. We went to the locate parade, went to two Elks lodge meets in private room with maybe 100 people. Went to the local Elks lodge every Friday night for dinner. Went to several rodeos events in the last three weeks in Arizona.. I flat out quit working, shaking hands, hugging people and quit petting puppies as they walked by. So back in Montana I really debated working. Decided to only work on Aquahot heating systems. This decision was mine and my wife’s agreement. We have gained much knowledge about The covid situation since we left Arizona. Apparently there are some old customers that do not understand our situation. Nor do they care who they infect or hurt. But I will say that they really do not care about my life or my wife’s life. The last three customers out of maybe 10 all summer have flat out lied to me. I ask about going to eat or them going to bars before I agree to come to their rv and do the work. And no work inside the rv. The last three have had a slip up of words about going to eat together or with other people while I am standing there. Just my experience, Vern
  18. You should be able to call the DMV with the vin number and see who has the lien on that unit. And also possible to see any other problems with it financially. That way you can proceed after that info is obtained. And you can trust what other people are saying about the unit. Just a thought, Vern
  19. It is 5 am where I am at. 5:30 I looked at the clock again. Is there a 110 volt fuse on the board. I would replace that fuse. Then follow 110 volt with a volt meter meter. First thoughts of the day, Vern
  20. Yesterday I finally have the lock and trigger assembly able to fit in the stock. The lock is not by my hands. The triggers are going to be modified for this rifle. I have had both the lock and triggers in the stock and the trigger does operate the lock. The trigger mechanism is a set trigger. For much lighter trigger pull. I have started building my own lock. But wanted to try the rifle at a range. I will finish my own lock later. So I am having trouble finding where to shoot the rifle at more than 100 or so yards. I will keep looking and asking. There is still some work to do on the bullet mold I want to use. I have also been researching using paper patched bullets. I do still have my best long rifle with us. So I may take it out some day to shoot also. Lots of stuff to keep busy this summer, Vern
  21. My first great experience rving was by foot hiking around the Adirondack mountains back in the 70’s. Caught my first native trout on that trip. Next real surprise was to go to Talladega nascar race in Talladega Alabama There about 35,000 rv’s show up for that race back about 2011. That is hard to vision that many rv’s at one place. It is hard to pick the best from the years being on the road. But in the situation we are in now with Covid. I apparently have quit a bit of time to figure out tha best wheel power trip. I can tell you my wife’s worst nightmare wheel trip was to take our truck and fifthwheel (wich I is 73’ long) into Palo Duro canyon. After we were at the bottom she would not speak. She even tried to hitchhike out. And let me drive out on my own. Lots time to think, Vern
  22. If you have any health concerns and need to purchase your own health insurance I would search all options. That was our biggest problem. But we started to full time in 2005. Health insurance has changed a lot since then. We are now on Medicare. My wife does the medical research. But there maybe differences in the plans in different states that could affect your decision. Whether it is regular health insurance or your move to some Medicare plan. The other decisions for us was after we figured out the insurance situation. Just my pennies worth of thoughts, Vern
  23. Is it restricted to wheel power or could it be foot powered. Vern
  24. I will wave when I go out again. Yep it sure looks like sitting still maybe the thing to do till spring. Then reassess then situation at hand. But I am free. No more people stopping by while I am working on my stuff. Many moons ago I cut ice out of a pond and made an igloo. It was neat looking at night with lights inside. Hope that fridge is working, Vern
  25. We have not traveled since March 23rd. And we are not near any well travel highways or interstate highways. So I am curious how full the truck-stops are. Sorta using that info as for how the economy is doing. Yesterday at the local Costco the upper storage shelves were maybe 3/4 full. They are rationing paper product at this Costco. Also canned veggie stuff is very limited. The other thing is the new car lots have about 60 percent of the capacity filled. Local big camper dealer has apparently sold lots of units, but replacement units are not showing up. However In northwest Montana the local workers are busy with work and visitors are swarming to Glacier NP.. we are hiding for the duration of the present situation. Planning on sitting through the winter in Montana. Stay Safe everyone, Vern
