  1. I'm guessing you are asking about buying an entire campground, not just a site in a campground. Location is important. Near a river is not on a river and that matters to some people. Close enough to a metro area to make weekend getaways reasonable is another. When we went for weekends we mostly just wanted lack of noise. Linda Sand
  2. I had my unit serviced once. I took it to a shop that repairs refrigerated trucks. That's where we learned the unit was installed then the cabinet built around it. They had to dig it out to do the work then left it in a more accessible location. So, yes, location is important for more than one reason. Linda
  3. It wasn't a case of sizing; the ten hour limit was a feature of the heater. I suspect, since these are designed to heat truck cabs they wanted to make sure you didn't use too much fuel while sleeping. Although it would turn off if the fuel tank hit a certain limit no matter how long the heater had run. Linda
  4. I had one in my last van. It would only run ten hours at a time. If I wanted it to run longer, I had to turn it off then back on. But it did a good job for my space while just sipping fuel. Linda

    Photo test

Yes, but I have no idea what I am looking at other than a crack. Linda
  6. Glad to help. That's what this community is all about. Linda
  7. The flu shots say they are at CVS, Hy-Vee and Costco but Dave got his yesterday at his doctor's office so the link above is not infallible. Linda
  8. I just checked locally and it's apparently at all the Walgreens and CVS pharmacies but not at doctor's facilities. Linda
  9. My confusion came from a friend trying to figure out how to use a detergent bottle in the middle of the night. When I suggested he buy a hospital type urinal, the thought that was brilliant. Linda
  10. You could check out an electronics store. They have holders for all kinds of remotes.
  11. Urinals are cheap to buy so I don't understand why people use detergent bottles. I can see transferring from a urinal to a detergent bottle to extend volume capability but why start with the bottle?
  12. Is there a reason you think you might want to put the pressure regulator on only leg of your system? It seems to be it would be safest to regulate both legs. Linda
  13. Just east of OKC, right on I-40, is Grand Casino Shawnee with free RV parking with electric. Sites 1-10, if I remember correctly but there's also a site 0 and a 00. It's on pavement but backs up to a creek. Don't use their dump unless you have a macerator; it's uphill. Instead, continue east the to first rest area which has a decent dump. This may be outdated info as the name of the casino has changed since we were there. Linda
  14. I went to the GD web page because I like seeing what people are considering buying. I was surprised that they listed a bunch of recalls. I'd like to know if any of those applied to one I was buying. But GD has a good reputation and I like the one you are looking at. Does your one ton P/U have enough power to pull something that big? And, more important, to stop it? Linda Sand
  15. It seems to me that taking reservations results in no shows leaving sites unclaimed. I remember trying to get into a park with many empty sites but they were all reserved so they wouldn't let us have one in case that one was a late arrival. It used to be that you had to come or call by 6 pm or you'd lose your site. We've waited until 6 pm to arrive in hopes of getting into a "full" park and succeeding more than once. Is using first come more likely to fill them? I don't know but I'd like to see them go back to the come or call by 6 pm.
  16. Yes! We actually took shelter a couple of times and ran from a hurricane once. It helped to have a weather alert radio. But, it was all worth it. Linda
  17. Neighbors with contractor generators. I am more sensitive to noise than most people. My engine needing DEF. Getting it refilled was a huge challenge for me. A dealer once charged me $245 to top off the tank in my van because that was their minimum labor charge. Another dealer was willing to fill it but he poked a hole in the carton thinking it needed an air inlet but he poked the hole below the spout so it dribbled all over everything. Some people treating me as less than because my rig was only a van while others treated me as too big for my britches because it was a luxury van. I was always just me. Linda
  18. I know many smart people. Some are members of Mensa indicating they are truly intelligent. Yet, one of them is disliked among our community. He has NO common sense so does some really stupid things. He has no clue as to why he is no longer invited to events. Linda
  19. Sounds like a great start! Thanksgiving dinner at Rainbow's End is worth doing. Linda Sand
  20. Um. You only take a test if you think you are positive or you need for to prepare for an event--like surgery--so why wouldn't most of them be positive?
  21. I tend to think of the topic areas as single point sources. I only read the topics that interest me. No one says you have to read all of them. I do, however, check the latest post area to see if anything there from other topics catches my eye. Those that do tend to be from the HDT area which I don't normally read but they post some fun stuff. Linda
  22. The HDT area is part of this forum. I've taken to reading parts of it just to see what little is happening. I've been learning about 5th wheel hitch plates. Linda
  23. I don't know how you'd find cabins near Planet Fitness but if you buy a van type RV (called a class B.) you don't have to tow anything and you can park it daytimes at Planet Fitness. And make a smoothie or take a nap right there after your workout. Linda Sand
