  1. I think she was making a humorous comment about my execrable lack of clarity. I should have said that the exercise of free will allows you to either decline or to opt, to comment or read.
  2. They could probably impound it fr a day or so to protect it from being altered while they obtain a warrant. You are correct that they would need a warrant to search it for data.
  3. The beauty of free will. If you think something does not deserve comment, don't comment. If you think it has been hased to death, don't bother to read it.
  4. Here's how it is done. Atty 1- Mr. X, can you tell me what exhibit A is? Mr. X - It is a DVD containing a dashcam video recording of the crash from my truck camera. Atty 1 - Have you reviewed it? Mr. X. - Yes. Atty 1 - Does Exhibit A accurately show the view from your windshield at the time of the accident? Mr. X - Yes. Atty 1 - Your honor, I offer Exhibit A into evidence. Judge- Atty 2, do you have any objections. Atty 2 - Chain of custody Judge - Overruled. The witness has adequately authenticated the exhibit. Exhibit A is admitted.
  5. The problem with a rebuild is that you are unlikely to get your money back if you have the work done and will be selling it soon. We have a 2006 Carriage fiver (Carri Lite 36KSQ). Carriage was one of the really good builders who went down in 2010/11. There are Carriages built today, but not by Carriage. Crossroads bought the name and then Thor bought Crossroads. The qualityof our Carriage is great, but things needed modernizing. We had the work done. We did brakes, suspension, wheels, axles, appliances, furniture and flooring, entertainment center, plus a bit of miscellaneous. We love it. It was pricey, but the combined purchase and rebuild was not as pricey as buying a current high end fiver new or even recently used. We don't expect to get our money back but will be living in it for a few more years, and then parking it for summers in Maine for several years after that. By that time the new high end would also have fully depreciated.
  6. Amen. I was part of a team defending a vehicular homicide a few years ago. A semi rear-ended a passenger vehicle parked in the breakdown lane. There was no video in either vehicle involved in the accident, but an oncoming vehicle recorded the entire incident at pretty close range. The video was very compelling and drove the eventual outcome of the case.
  7. That is probably unlikely, at least in Florida. About three million are due from this batch nationwide. From what I see there are likely to be far fewer than 20 million vaccinated nationwide in December. I spoke to a CCRC supervisor who said they will not be getting it until March, except for staff and people in nursing home level care, who would be seeing it in January. My guess is that the rest of us old folks are looking at April or May.
  8. It has nothing to do with the power source. The problem is interference with the signal coming into the TV, probably through the coaxial cable. My bet is on a bad ground causing a spark. A good spark can transmit radio frequencies on a lot of frequencies causing electromagnetic interference -EMI). When that happens wiring can act as an antenna. The coaxial cable used in TV's has a metal mesh outer layer that is supposed block this, but it isn't perfect. The TV tech was tracing coax and redoing connections to try to limit the EMI.
  9. No. Testimony is words or actions that you do or say that convey an idea or information. A camera is a thing with data in it. Like a cell phone, computer, photo album or notebook it can be subject to either a subpoena, civil discovery orders to produce documents in a civil case, or a search warrant in a criminal case.
  10. That explains why there were no new posts when I looked last.
  11. If you have iPhone/Ipad, the AllStays Camp & RV app is useful. It has clearances, parks, businesses that allow parking, campgrounds, dump stations, RV repair shops and more. Campendium is also useful. It is available online and in apps. No clearances but good campground/park/BLM info. For mountain grades I don't know of anything better than the Mountain Directory. It is available in ebook, app, online and in print. It is pricey, but not as pricey as a ride ending partway down a bad grade.
  12. OK. Looked at WF and will probably link that debit card to fuel. Basically they say I'm not losing anything so long as I report improper charges within 60 days of appearing on the statement. That is doable. Thank you.
  13. I have a WF account, too. I will look at their agreement.
  14. Here is the link to the California State Parks COVID page
  15. I believe the issue is not so much making the walls "slippery" for an extended period of time as breaking down the fat that has accumulated on the walls. I say that because immediately after a run with nothing but water, borax and Dawn in the tank I dump. I get a lot of dark flow from the black water tank where water tank flush flow is mostly clear. That suggests that there has been something dislodged/dissolved by the cleaning mix while traveling. My best guess is fat from feces. Feces contains 2-7 g of fat per day per person. For two folks in a RV dumping every 4 days that is 1/2 to 2 ounces of fat that is available to adhere to the walls. I don't think the cleaning solution will continue to make the walls slippery because both borax and soaps are used in cleaning because they rinse out easily.
  16. I think the OEM tires on the 350 were Michelin. On a 2011 vehicle they were probably made in 2010. There is a four digit date code on the sidewall. The first two numbers are the week of manufacture; the second two are the year. 4010 would be the 40th week of 2010 (beginning Sept 26, 2010). Here's what Michelin says about tire life. The tire material changes chemically/structurally over time and become much less safe. While you are getting new tires talk to them about the wear problem. They tire pros should have an idea about the problem. I was getting the same outer band wear on the 2017 F-350 with Michelins. It was a toe-in issue.
  17. We use Scott 1000 and flush. I also add a scoop of RV Digest-it to both tanks after each dump. Every second or third move (and the first after a prolonged stay) I dump the tanks before moving and add 5 gallons of water, a cup of borax (dissolved in the water so start with hot water) and a half cup of dawn. Some folks have reported suds coming up with detergent. I have 52 gallon tanks. If yours are smaller you may want to use less detergent. Finally, I keep the bathroom ceiling vent open (it is under a cover). We have no problems with function or smell. When I dump I don't see any solids flowing out of the tank (clear section of pipe).
  18. Amen. We have a fiver. With the bike rack on the back we are 56' end to end. Exploring while towing is not in the cards.
  19. I agree seam sealing is important, but I think more often than once a year is in order. If you put recaulking on a rotating schedule it isn't so overwhelming. Two slides January, two slides February, remaining side seams March. If you are traveling you are going to need to do some touchup/replacement every three months or so in a towed RV because there is a lot of movement going on back there. Get up on the roof at least every three months, and preferably every month. The blog recommended Dicor which I have been using. A RV shop owner who I respect suggested I try polyurethane caulk. He said it will go six months traveling or a year or more stationary. I'm going to tackle that project in January, February and March. I've found silicone to be very unsatisfactory. You must clean it out completely because it won't even stick to itself. Dicor will stick to itself so redo's are not as difficult. I expect the first stripping with polyurethane to be lengthy but not subsequent applications because it will stick to itself.
  20. If price is not an object, Lambright Comfort Chairs in Topeka, IN (about 30 miles east of Elkhart) makes fabulous furniture. We had a rebuild done in summer 2019. We bought the Hide-a-bed sofa with pulldown center console, two Lazy Relax-R recliners and a two drawer cabinet/table. We couldn't be happier
  21. There are folks who love them. I don't like relying on a GPS because I've found too many glitches over the years. I'm convinced that GPS systems share a twisted sense of humor. I plan routes using several sources: Rand McNally Road Atlas for general route planning Mountain Directory for detailed grade/mountain road information AllStays Camp & RV for low clearances and more. Google maps for detailed planning, including going to ground level to preview locations that might be problematic such as big interstate interchanges Then I write down the trip for my navigator.
  22. I have two, dry charge (powder) extinguishers. One is kept on the kitchen counter when not traveling, and the other in a corner in the bedroom. Dry charge extinguishers work on grease/liquid, electrical and just general fires. I do not keep them in designated clip holders because I want them handier to the problem and my kitchen and bedroom not have handy wall space for an extinguisher.
  23. Raising kids would be my first suggestion, but the timing may be off. How about training a dog?🐕
