  1. I have a Champion 3000 watt generator and it has never failed to start the AC on my '06 trailer. I can't remember if it was a 13.5k unit or a 15k, but it did everything I asked of it. From what I recall, you will loose a little capacity running on propane and they will use a fair amount of it too.
  2. Don't put antifreeze in the fresh tank. You will have a terrible time getting the taste out. Look in your owner's manual. There should be instructions for the way the manufacturer says to winterize. For your water heater, there will be a drain plug OR an anode rod that you pull to drain it. Make sure that the water lines are in by-pass for the water heater. A lot have a line to add antifreeze through the suction line of the pump. Don't forget to put antifreeze in the sink drains and the shower/tub drain plus I always put a cup or so in the toilet to help keep the seal moist.
  3. Right now I am in Big Spring, possibly headed south to the Big Bend area for a while.
  4. That could be something like a broken solder joint. If it is, a couple of seconds with a soldering iron and it is as good as new!
  5. 11 years of blowing out the lines with absolutely no problems in northern Minnesota. I would say not much effort needed in my case.
  6. I had a trailer for 11 years in northern Minnesota. All I did was put the water heater in bypass and drain it, drain the water system at the low point drains then close them. Run the water pump dry for 30 seconds (per instructions), then blow out the lines using the city water hook up. I then used about 1/2 gallon of antifreeze in the traps and toilet. I had absolutely no problem winterizing it that way. That was what the owner's manual said to do. It only took me about 15 minutes to get it done. Check your owner's manual and see how it says to do it. Now I just go where it is warmer to winterize.......
  7. I had a 2006 Dutchmen that had exposed tanks, but the water lines were in the body of the trailer (no cold weather package). I stayed in mine under the exact conditions you are describing. It got down to about 25* at night and up to about 45* during the day. I had no problem with anything freezing. There was enough thermal mass in the tanks to keep them thawed, but the only problem I had was keeping propane! I only ran the heat when I was there and even shut it off to sleep. I was going through a tank a week so keep that in mind.
  8. This trailer came with 5200 lb axles and 16" load range E tires on it. I am not certain of the quality though. They are Castle Rock ST tires. I haven't looked any further for info yet.
  9. If I took my 28" and put my 16' boat behind that I was almost exactly 65' long. I am looking forward to having some room and a more comfortable trailer. Now to see what my little truck thinks of it...........
  10. On Friday 6/2 my wife and I are signing papers on a new trailer. We wanted a bigger trailer so we found one we both like. Here is the trailer we are buying: http://www.coatesrv.com/New-Inventory-2017-Forest-River-Hemisphere-346RK-Hugo-Minnesota-1950864 It's going to be nice going from a 24' to a 34'. Gonna take a bit to get used to the 38 1/2 foot length! I'm looking forward to getting it!
  11. You can get four Maxxis tires for $339.72 plus shipping from Simple Tire.
  12. Dang, that's an impressive drop in interest! I am wondering if they just financed the motorhome, meaning they may not have financed the purchase of a commercial motor vehicle for conversion? Really doesn't matter to me, just thinking on the keyboard....
  13. I second going with Maxxis 8008 tires. Go to the MAXXIS site and you will see what they have. The smallest tire in 14" that I found there was a 205/75r/14
  14. Glad you got it home and all is well. I hope to become an HDT owner in the not to distant future too...........
  15. That does sound like alack of refrigerant flow. Do you know if this unit has a capillary tube or an expansion valve? If it has an expansion valve then it could be a valve problem. Turning it upside down won't do anything to fix it, in fact it may cause some oil in the compressor to sneak past the piston and possibly break the reed valves rendering the compressor useless.
  16. Unfortunately Florida will not recognize the truck as a motorhome as long as it has a fifth wheel hitch.
  17. Watch out for them Lot Lizards!!! They can be (and most are) NASTY!!
  18. Mine said I stepped over 12,000 steps in about 4 hours....... That was about the amount of time it took me to mow my yard on a riding mower (back when I used to have a yard!).
  19. One thing I learned about the Deere is that you MUST have the PTO shaft engaged fully before you lift what you have on the three point hitch. I fixed one for a guy that didn't have the shaft on all the way and it broke the output shaft. That little shaft was about $500 without any other parts or pieces.
  20. Would it be possible to get a personal loan if the amount was 'small' enough?
  21. Maybe I will wave at you when we meet! I am in Columbus, Indiana and heading to about an hour and a half north of the Twin Cities.
  22. I got a spot in Cave City for the next couple of days then it's north to Minnesota to watch my daughter's animals for a couple days while she and her fiancee take a short trip.
  23. I am on my way there now. I am in Bardstown and haven't figured out where I am going to stay yet.
