  1. I don't care. My wallet is in pretty good shape. I just want bath water that doesn't irritate my skin.
  2. Bummer. As long as Ace, HD and Lowe's keep selling it, I'm good. Perhaps I'll stock up and buy 20 bags.
  3. Before softener everything was fine. About 1 year later the metal drain was almost gone. Hard to pin that on anything but an out of whack ph. I have a softener at home, and I went to the potassium crystals because the salt was irritating my skin after a bath. Yes, I understand it's a small ph difference (if running properly) but enough for me to notice.
  4. My On the Go ate the drain out of my shower. No more softeners for me.
  5. I don't know, but that would be an interesting statistic. The Autobahn is pretty safe, but it's designed for high-speed traffic. My experience in traffic engineering is that speed limits are the "safe" speed for that road, not a government plot to control your life.
  6. x2. I get really tired of this "my conspiracy theory is just as good as your facts" argument. Gee, I wonder where this came from.?
  7. We've been seeing a lot of that these past few years.
  8. I've noticed that many times.. the headlight is so bright and aimed right at me I have to look away.
  9. Then I should be able to buy cocaine and heroin.
  10. Like everything else, you get what you pay for.
  11. When I found that my RV incandescent porch light had partially melted the lens, that was it for me.
  12. Complaining about new products is usually about one thing: money. That, and if the government mandates it, then it's some horrible abuse of our "freedoms". I have all LEDs in the RV and house, and never had to replace them. The usual reason they burn up is that your converter puts out too much voltage for the cheap ones, which people usually buy because everything is about money. There's something suspicious about mr packnrat's tale.

    block heater

Yes, much easier on the batteries when starting. I don't think the intake heater even came on.I needed it to leave NM in early October when we had a cold snap. Also need to be aware of wire size of extension cord for long runs.

    block heater

So sans thermostat you can safely leave them overnight?

    block heater

Yeah, one with really beefy contacts! I assume these heaters have thermostats...?

  17. I have a 48v Outback IC. Wonderful product. Don't know about parlell
  18. * Input Rated Voltage: DC 36V 48V 30-50V Which one are you going to believe? (original post edited to show 50)
  19. FROM the specs on the above linked converter: "1. Can not used long time Under the MAX. LISTED LOAD POWER." LOL. Sounds like 'me love you long time'. Don't waste your time on that cheap Chinese unit. Notice (as you mentioned) max input voltage is 50. Your batteries at rest will be around 52v, even more when they're being charged. If need be you can parallel a couple Victrons. Yeah, they're expensive, but there's a reason for that.
  20. I wouldn't be wasting 100 bux on anything not fit for the job. Victron makes robust converters.
  21. And if it isn't, this antenna works really well.
