  1. One other nagging problem, the cab air bags are still deflating with the general drop is pressure over 24 hours. None of the other bags do that. Anyone know why? I'm trying to get an answer from Sportchassis but so far it's difficult.
  2. Just got it back from the shop. Took them maybe 1.5 hours, while I wait. I love that. Bill says " remove/install new abs valve" and "brake air valve." I don't have air brakes. Oh well, she's holding air nicely, cab bags stay up. Not leak-free, but at least now it takes 24 hours to lose 75 pounds instead of 3.
  3. The one I like is takeoff on "What you don't know can't hurt you", a phrase I'm sure we've all heard from time to time.
  4. Close. It's - "It Ain’t What You Don’t Know That Gets You Into Trouble. It’s What You Know for Sure That Just Ain’t So". The opening quote in "The Big Short", a movie I've watched probably 50 times. The author of the quote is somewhat difficult to trace.
  5. I was a business programmer in the 90s. A couple hundred users was hard enough, I can't imagine what it takes to service over a billion.
  6. I like FB and use it all the time. I have lots of cousins and I like keeping in contact with them. I'm sure most of you have people you're curious about...old HS friends, hometown friends, college buddies, but not exactly people you'd be emailing or calling on the phone. FB is real nice for that. Sure, there's a lot of crap on there, but nobody''s forcing you to participate in that.
  7. I didn't say that.
  8. My rear suspension never goes down, even with the gauge at zero. The cab air bags do. My air hitch never goes down. Air seat never goes down. So as Jay said above, it's the fan clutch that uses air? I'll have to look at that.. seems odd to me. In my particular case, so far I'm seeing that my worst case would be listening to a non-stop warning alarm... unless I'm missing something about the engine being derated if the air isn't up to at least 100.
  9. Compressor cycles about every minute to 90 seconds. I do not have air brakes.
  10. Do you guys ever drive with air leaks? I'm sure sometimes you have to, but maybe never with a leak like this. I really want to go camping 80 miles from the house in spite of the leak, but I'm not sure if I'm about to blow something and have no air.
  11. Just got it back from an independent small shop. (Shocks) Took them 1.5 hours. After being quoted 3, I was very pleased. I was surprised they had no lift or pit, so the mechanic had to crawl under it. They quickly found the big leak at a large plug in the jct box I pictured above. Didn't have the part so they ordered it. I really like having the truck go in right when I get there, and the work done while I wait. I tipped generously.
  12. Interesting. I wouldn't think it would take that long just to remove and replace shocks.
  13. She's going into the shop tomorrow morning. Arrow points to small leaky one. pic isn't the best but it's all green About how much time does it take to replace 2 rear shocks?
  14. Really. It's scary and hard to work. Been thinking of digging a pit. I find it rather hard to believe that a leak as big as this cannot be heard.
  15. Yes, a bunch of smaller ones is what it usually is. I've discovered just the one I mentioned, it does bubble, makes no noise, but to this layman that doesn't seem like enough of a leak to cause what I'm seeing. With your comments Darryl&Rita I'll tell my mechanic to pay close attention to the cab bag system. Replacing one fitting, maybe I could do that, but I am simply not equipped to do much more than that.
  16. It's down to 25lb after sitting for a little over 2 hours. That seems like a pretty substantial leak.
  17. What does 'the valve passes' mean? Passes air?
  18. What I find so frustrating is that, if you have 'substantial' leaks, you can never hear them. Entertain another question from me, please: The rear axle bags always stay up, even if the air gauge reads zero. The cab bags do not stay up, not even for a few hours. I have checked both needle valves on both tanks and they are not leaking. Does this suggest anything?
  19. thank you. Reverse process to insert?
  20. I can find some of them with bubbles. I don't know how to fix them. Hydraulic. 2008. Seems like I can't go a year without springing more leaks. I thought air ride was pretty cool at first, but now it's just a big pita.
  21. So, how DO you fix them yourself? Does the hose and fitting just pull out?

    m2 106 air leaks

Before I try to take a picture of a leaky hose, I thought I'd ask.. how do you guys deal with air leaks? It seems I always have a leak somewhere, and it's getting irritating having to take it to the shop. This time it's a small green hose that fits into the rear junction box near the rear axle. Is this a diy thing? The pump cycles about every minute or so. Is that too much? thanks
  23. I may have metioned this before, but I'd go 48v on the inverter too. Sure beats all that fat wire. I don't know if you go to Quartzsite, but your system sounds like something I'd really like to see! Wow.
  24. Imho there's nothing in solar that needs to be fused. A cutoff between panels and controller is nice.
  25. Wouldn't it be nice if DTV had an app where one could just change a service address without all this hassle? I think so.
