  1. I added a little more to my post after you replied. Also dealers with what you want in stock are great dealers to include in the three. As the dealer does not want to have a unit just sitting there if they can move it quickly. There are several variables that you need to look at to plan out the best way to do it is. I said build sheet as I had a 5th wheel built with two pages of custom modifications.
  2. Not to sound sarcastic, but a fair deal is what you and the dealer agree upon. I narrowed my choice to one particular model. I then contact what I thought where the three largest dealers. Gave them my build sheet and asked them to price it out. I informed them that I was doing this so let’s not do any back and fourth. I then picked the cheapest dealer and bought my rig. I full time so no matter where I bought it I would more then likely never be back there for service. Some dealers PDI a rig MUCH better then others. They in my opinion are worth paying a premium on. As your rig will have less problems when you pick it up. Because they spent the time to go over, find and repair issues before you even show up to pick it up. Don’t listen to people making a blanket statement, ya you should get 25-40 percent off. And the will even say OTR, on the road. But what people seem to lose site of is every state has different tax rates and fee’s (title & tags and what ever other fee’s the state charges). Supply and demand can also dictate the price. That is why shopping 3 dealers really gives you an idea. Getting a fair/great deal is state of mind. If you think you got screwed then that will be your mindset. Even if you got the best deal on the planet. When I sold cars, my Happiest customers where the ones that paid the most.
  3. I know of no program that has the access to check every campgrounds availability. Create a list of your first choice down to the last and start calling. You are only doing this a couple of times a year so it should not be that bad. I stay a week to a month at most and move on. So I call campgrounds all the time. And like you stated, there are some areas that you will need to plan way in advance to insure a space.
  4. We deleted our fireplace, installed heavy duty sliders and but the box on that. There are two doors that cover the opening. One of them does not have the center panel, and that is what he goes through to get to the box.
  5. I’m sure that it has been done. Are you looking at buying from a dealer or individual? A dealer would be safer in my book. Lots of pictures or even a live stream walk around inside and out, plus having you pay for an inspection by a reputable RV mechanic. Best of luck and welcome to the lifestyle.
  6. The word resort means nothing anymore. I think they do that to attempt to validate there price and try to attract people. A campground to me is all about location. I think in some areas where there are not that many campgrounds and space is limited and $$$$, you see people living there for years at a time.
  7. As long as my wife, cat and me can get out safely is all that matters. Everything is insured and can be replaced.
  8. No engine as it is a 5th wheel and I have a 110 residential fridge.
  9. Linda, we do not have a bag as our 5th wheel is our bag. It carries everything we need and if we need to bug out, we just hook up the truck and hit the road.
  10. I understand, let me know if you find the cure for my Firestick.
  11. Hey Dutch, I only have and use Apple products. I just downloaded two location apps and neither has worked yet. I am trying this on my IPad. I could always go through my apply TV to air play it.
  12. Let me know if you do. As so far 8 vpn companies do not have servers in the cities that I need.
  13. Would the fame gps app work on the Firestick? I tried to fool the program by setting my location on the Firestick, but it did not fool it.
  14. But now that bad news. I can not find a VPN that can say that I am in Baltimore, MD. So sad.......
  15. Why not replace the floors with plastic wood? Not sure if they make them is sheets or not. But I would think this would solve the problem even is water gets in.
  16. From our friend Google. Can I stream video with Bluetooth? Audio Only. If you don't want to stream video to your TV, but you'd still like to wirelessly beam tunes to your speakers, you can sometimes save a bit of money by installing an audio-only streaming solution. ... Essentially, you have two choices: you can stream via a wireless network, or via Bluetooth
  17. If they are wireless they should be connection by WiFi. I would think if you do not want to use WiFi, you will need to hard wire them.
  18. It could end up being a couple of different companies. I deal with 3 of them to cover everything I own. Just make sure when you are shopping around that you are comparing for the same coverages. I am and have used Progressive for more then 15 years. I think that they would be a good start
  19. I would guess why it is 39 out of 50 states. Again everyone seems to be missing the point. It is more hazardess to drive in rain vs when it is sunny out. Anyone that thinks different is just fooling them selves.
  20. Salesmen are that, salesmen. They have one purpose. If you want to make sure, have them show you the specs in a book. The fleet salesmen are better trained to specking out a truck. But it is ALWAYS the buyers responsibility to do there due diligence to get the facts. Sorry you had to find this out the hard way.
  21. My wipers are always up to it. I replace them when needed also. I guess you missed my point. Turns out it's rain. A new analysis of federal data shows that rain causes more driving fatalities than snow in 39 of the 50 states. In fact, car accidents are the deadliest weather hazard in the United States — whether caused by rain, snow, fog or wind — and kill about 7,000 Americans a year.May 14, 2015 It is all about lessening the risk. I could careless about setting up in the rain. As I have a rain coat and I can always dry off and change into dry cloths once set up. But when the other drivers cut you off and then get on the brakes, dry conditions are the best.
  22. If the rear cap is made out of fiberglass. Have the screw holes filled and then repaint. If done right, you should never know it was even there.
