  1. How was Texas Custom Coach for repairs? I have the bedroom slide floor problem and a leak in the dining slide that I cannot find. Only gets wet in crazy rain. I think it is window related, but above my pay grade....
  2. the Walmart/Murphy gift card saves you per gallon and removes the limits from the pumps. Usually the cheapest fuel around too. Not as good as the co-op, but close.
  3. go propane from start if you are planning on doing that anyway. When my onan diesel died last summer and the cummins/onan folks couldn't even look at it for weeks and weeks, I borrowed my in-laws Hondas to get through the summer. twin 2000i with the parallel kit. Father in law converted them to propoane and I just strapped everything down on the deck. I did get a propane Y splitter so I could run both off the same tank. Worked good and kept 30a sunning down the road. Ran the AC in the sleeper and the fridge in the trailer. worked really good with my ghetto portable AC unit in the sleeper with the exhaust port out the window (home depot special when the sleeper AC quit working).
  4. Can I trigger the relay off of the reverse light signal in the trailer plug? That was the plan. Reverse lights on, want the rock lights on.
  5. Rvroof.com is the way I’m going on my Teton.
  6. Thanks. I think it was a faulty solenoid and the batteries were over six years old, so I might be overthinking this. Alternator is also new. It is a new isolator, so that should be good new alternator which is within spec. We’ll check the intellipower converter
  7. Two banks of four batteries, one chassis set, one house set. I have a Blue sea ML-ACR isolator which supports dual engine/alternator input. So the alternator will charge both banks when truck running. What I’m trying to figure out is how to wire When the generator is running AND the truck is running. The generator does NOT have an alternator to charge a battery. It charges via an intellipower 9200 with Charge Wizard (AC to 12v DC converter). Here is the instruction diagram for dual motor wiring: For the generator side, is it as simple as wiring into the run side of the ON switch for the generator? We have to attach the run side of the key for the truck as the primary. I hate wiring stuff. As many know, the wiring on this truck had a lot of interesting things going on. It appears that the manual solenoids that we’re used powered OPEN every time the key was on, allowing both banks to be charged at all times from the alternator AND also to be charged from the Intellipower at the same time when the generator was running. No wonder the batteries were fried. Appreciate your help.
  8. so is this right? reverse switch --> relay on --> lights toggle switch ON --> same relay on --> lights?
  9. I would like the rock lights/boogey lights to come on when I put the truck in reverse as well as have a separate switch to turn them on when truck is not connected. My trailer lights all go through a separate fuse panel in the front of the rig that is easy to tap into. Say I had the rock lights all wired up where I can turn them on via a toggle switch and powered independently by the trailer batts, what would i need to add to have them be activated by the reverse light signal from the truck when towing? I'm going to use the https://luxlightingsystems.com/ , same ones I have on my trail rig. Thanks for your help.
  10. We ended up going with Irvine shade with solar day and night. I made the valences out of old pallet wood to match the new decor, and used the spring clips for mounting. Pretty happy with them. http://www.irvineshadeanddoor.com/products/roller-shades/
  11. I'm trying to make it to the Roundup. Keeping fingers crossed I'll be in UT in July, Let me know when and where, I'll grab the in-laws JK and come down to see ya.
  12. You are screwed, give it up!
  13. Big thanks to Rick and his wife for taking the time to stop amd meet with us. Good people right there. Sure do appreciate it. And good news, the panel I wired in on our home base property passed the test! thanks again.
  14. I’m trying to figure out if the mini split cassette can go in the ceiling and use the existing ducting.
  15. Yes, we are just outside of Nashville. I'll PM you my number. Appreciate it.
  16. Since we cannot attend now, I can order the plug and send it to someone and send additional $$s to have someone make one for me and mail it to me? I can also help with additional parts or something if needed to help contribute. Thanks.

we did a Hudderite farm tour this summer and it was very informative and interesting. Also, we usually get all our veggies and some pies and bread from them when we are in Alberta each year.

we typically do Southern Alberta in July sometime, so would be open to heading North sometime before or after.
  19. Cedars is tight. But I did get in there once with our rig. It was lawn chair, feature watching time. Those cement benches keep you tight.
  20. Finally was able to get it into an Onan service center. We disconnected all connections outside of the genset. Same behavior, motor starts up and runs fine, flip breaker on, shuts down with NO load and no connection to anything outside genset. They are saying it is a ground fault, probably a wire rubbed through in the harness. However, they want to schedule me in late August to look at it further. I tried to open it up and see if I could find the short, unfortunately, in order to get the panels off, the genset needs to be dropped out of the truck as it sits too close to the airbags on the truck and not enough room to get the panel off, unless I am doing it wrong. It is only four bolts holding the genset cage, but that thing is heavy at 450lbs, so no way to do it myself. I'm calling around to onan service centers on our trip and trying to get an appointment somewhere in Canada. In the short term, borrowing a couple of Honda 2ks with a parallel kit to use for next two months and can return them on way back through.

we are spending a month in Alberta last summer and this. Mostly Waterton and Calgary areas. Would be interested.
  22. Yes, generator is mounted on the truck (HDT). I run the AC/microwave/fridge in the sleeper when we are running down the road. And it will run the trailer when we parking lot overnight. It can run a 50 amp trailer and a 30 amp trailer at the same time. This is a 2011 unit that only has ~700 hours on it.
